Whos side are you on? Silvas or Weidmans?

Broadly speaking, whos side are you on, Silvas or Weidmans?

Silva's. It's a lose/lose situation for him. If Silva beats Weidman, no one cares. Weidman is unknown and unproven. Beating a fat Munoz and having an awful performance against Maia doesn't mean he should get a title shot. Yes he had to cut a lot of weight, I get that, but that doesn't change how awful that fight was.

I'm not against Weidman getting the shot entirely, just not now. His record isn't that impressive. Let him get more wins under his belt and then make it happen.

Weidman hasn't fought for how long? When he comes back it'll be over a year, if he's so great he'll smash Vitor or Lombard..

If Georges can choose Nick then Anderson can do what he wants.

Everybody always wants the top dawg. Serra is the prime example. He beat GSP by going for broke. Now look at his career trajectory after that. Serra loses in the rematch, loses to Hughes which I actually bet Serra to win on, loses to Lytle and that's a wrap. He may have won the belt temporarily, but he lost to much lower ranked fighters in the division before and after the fact.

If Weidman is the true contender and future champ then take out another top fighter then he deserves it. Then we got ourselves a title fight!

I don't see how having an ugly fight with Demian Maia precludes one from getting a title shot. If that were true than Anderson Silva shouldn't get a title shot :D

I'm team Weidman he's the number one contender and the way Anderson is acting he's going to screw with the timing so Weidman has to fight multiple guys. They were both healthy for the Brazil card and we got a Bonnar instead it looks like it's going to be over a year between MW title fights and that is unacceptable from a healthy champion.

If Silva wants Cung Le great set it up in March we can back to back champion's choice fights but when Weidman is healthy he should get his title shot.

As for this whole lose/lose thing, your being paid to fight your sponsored by Nike, you are making "Anderson Silva Money" the last thing you are doing when you take a fight is "losing".

I don't see how Weidman gets this much support for a title shot. Who has he really beat? Bsiping has killed the majority of no names, but have been stop by legends and future hall of famer of the sport. I understand the dude has potential, etc, but why not give him a legit A grade star in the UFC? Give him Henderson,Evans,Vitor,Chael or someone legit. Mark Munoz has never defeated a legit star in his career.

I hate to say it, but Cung Le has defeated more stars than CW. Anderson Silva is a superstar, the man fights who he wants. Realistically if you were in Silva's shoes would you fight a no name ( which i think is an easy fight for him) or a another easy fight but with a guy who can make him more money?

You know Dana plays favourites when:
Jon Jones: "I want to fight Chael Sonnen!", Dana: "Sure! Right Away Champ!"
GSP: "I want to fight Nick Diaz!", Dana: "Sure! Right Away Champ!"
Anderson Silva: "I want to fight GSP/Micheal Bisping/Cung Le!", Dana: "HAHAHAH!"

Silva might be the best MMA fighter on the planet but its known for a long time that Dana does not like Anderson, and only puts on airs at the Press Conferences. If their was one Champ they should throw a bone to, its Silva.

Weidman is young. He is going to get his title shot. Instead of running his mouth while being injured and not fighting for the last year, he should focus on winning some fights to actually get earn that shot.

Silva's camp all the way, Weidman doesn't deserve a title shot yet. He only has 9 professional fights for god sakes, and his best win is over Mark Munoz who is solid but not a top contender (despite all the love for him on these forums pre-Weidman). The fact of the matter is that if Weidman thinks he's good enough to beat Anderson anyway, then he should easily be able to beat a top contender and truly earn a title shot with no questions asked.
If i was Weidman, I wouldn't want to fight Anderson after such a long layoff anyways. A warm up fight would do him some good, maybe against someone like Michael Bisping or Vitor Belfort.
