Davis/Vinny is gonna be a very dull fight. I have no clue why this was made.

Davis has the much superior TDD, he's not too bad of a grappler in his own right, not anywhere on the level of Vinny but he isn't out of his element completely but he's such a slow striker and he doesn't have too much power.

And as for Roy/Kongo, Roy has the better chin and he'll find Kongo's sooner or later, the real question is how many nutshots does Big Country eat?

Good card by today's standards for sure barring any injuries.

I'm always going to cheer for Roy, he's a great underdog story, I get his humor and love how he fights. With that said I agree with Toxic that this one could turn into a stinker. Kongo is gonna get hit with one of Roy's shots that he won't like and then lean on him with that big frame of his. He's very good at using his frame for leverage and will have a distinct strength advantage over Roy. I'm still hoping for a first round flash KO from Roy though.

As far as Davis vs. Vinny goes I know there are lots of guys out there that don't like this fight but I do. I
like it because these two have a beef and they are going to squash it. At least we get to see it right? Its better then two guys trading insults and never fighting or waiting forever to see it. I think Davis takes this one either standing or by smothering. Vinny is a one trick pony and if Phil plays his cards right if this goes to the ground he should at the minimum be able to neutralize Vinny's bottom game. Standing its all Phil to me even though his standup isn't great, that's just how bad Vinny's standup is.

I don't understand how people think Kongo/ Nelson will be boring. Kongo has been dropped several times in his last 3-4 fight. Nelson is too good on the ground and his hands are better every time he gets in the octagon. Simple. Nelson. Round 1. KO

Jon Jones | Anderson Silva | Urijah Faber | Benson Henderson | Rampage Jackson | Roy Nelson | Shinya Aoki

Vinny is a one trick pony and Davis isn't? Davis is one of the worst strikers at 205 period. Not that I think Vinny is great or anything but I wouldn't take Phil striking as a sure win over anyone.

I agree that Davis's standup is horrid but Vinny's standup is considerably worse from what I see. At least Davis has excellent wrestling and has shown that he has effective enough submission offense to finish guys in the UFC where Vinny just has excellent BJJ where you're always at risk to get subbed.

With Vnny you aren't talking about some random black belt. You are talking about one of the best grapplers in the world who has beaten a who's who of opponents in the grappling department.

You think Vinny's standup is worse then Phil's? I disagree personally. Both of them are pretty bad in that department but IMO Vinny is far less awkward with his standup.

I don't think Davis vs. Magalhaes will even be close. Davis is a top fighter with tremendous wrestling and strength. Vinny is a great BJJ practitioner but he's a pretty bad MMA fighter.

If this was in a Gi on a mat then yeah, Davis would probably get blitzed after getting a take-down. This isn't in a gi or on a mat and Davis isn't Igor.
