UFC 156 in Tweets: Pros score Aldo vs. Edgar, react to Overeem vs. Silva and Evans vs

As always I like to read the tweets from the pros after the fights and hear their input. Read on...

Ultimately UFC 156 emerged as a night of upsets, and nowhere was that more evident than the top of the card at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, NV on Saturday.

Antonio Silva stunned the mixed martial arts world, crumbling Alistair Overeem with a third-round blitzkrieg to take the early lead in 2013's "Knockout of the Year" running. Antonio Rogerio Nogueira turned back the clock, outpointing a suddenly listless Rashad Evans en route to a unanimous decision win. And to top it all off, former UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar and reigning UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo engaged in a grueling, back-and-forth five-round struggle.

In the end Aldo retained his crown, claiming victory on the judges' scorecards, 48-47 and 49-46 (x2). However, like many of Edgar's past bouts, the ruling was not without controversy.

Oh no BF didn't. Take a look at BF's tweet at the very end. What a bastard!

The one that made me laugh the most was actually Jon Jones' "Interesting night for the Blackzillians"...

honestly, interesting, is probably the best word for it..

Aww poor Ian McCall... And yes, he does deserve better. He's fought the two best (arguably) fighters in his division in his last three fights.

In the first he ended up getting a draw that could quite possibly have been a win if the decision had been called correctly and his two losses were competitive.

He still very much belongs in the division and the UFC.

BTW he just tweeted this as well:

The reactions to Bigfoot v Overeem fight were great, everyone loves a KO.

"Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man."

I hope UFC doesn't get desperate and do Cain vs. JDS III just yet. That fight deserves to be made, but JDS needs a confidence booster in between.

Would like to see Werdum get the next shot depending on the Nog fight result and JDS to get Reem. Technically Bigfoot makes more sense for JDS now but oh well!

Or if Hunt beats Struve we could get JDS/Hunt or Reem/Hunt. Man some good match ups...

My initial reaction was 'Yes, now we get to see JDS vs. Overeem!' But now I realize that one of the two would have to suffer his second straight loss, and that saddens me. I'd not mind if they went with JDS vs. Big Foot and Overeem vs. the winner of Struve/Hunt.

Can't believe so many had Edgar. It was fairly close, but surprised that so many were genuinely mad, like he was robbed. I think everyone just feels sorry for him at this point.
