he could still be champ if he:

-keeps his hands up
-doesn't try to be Anderson
-goes to a new camp

the look on his face, the humbling at the hands of Bigfoot, he needed that. Alistair has all the tools, he just needs the right mentor to get him to stfu and get his shit together. Overeem beat himself, he got what he deserved. If he learns from it he'll be back better. Overeem needs to keep that gap, land one hard punch or kick and then get out, repeat. Nobody can take his shots for an extended period of time if he isn't screwing around. Whatever camp he was at ruined him for this fight anyways, too many yes men telling him he's awsome and not enough people telling him to shut his cocky ass up before he wins.

Remy Bonjasky and Tyrone Spong would disagree with that sentiment.

It was one fight. Why should he retire after one bad night?

You forget that this isn't just some brutal sport where everyones out to kill each other. Its much more like a game of physical chess.-looney liam

Mike Tyson vs Buster Douglas. Lennox Lewis vs Hasim Rahman.
Alistair Overeem vs Antonio Silva.

First fight

Second fight

All of em were supremely overconfident and pre-occupied with other things. This is what will happen to Antonio Silva in the rematch. Usually Overeem winning means he's putting a hurting on his opponent. I don't know why he didn't elbow that big head of his and cut em open in 2nd. I actually think he was toying with em to an extent. Usually he goes for the kill right off the bat.

I think Alistair will ask for an immediate rematch.

Maximus: For the glory of the Empire, sire.

Baked, not fried... the healthy choice.

I was just looking through Overeem's record last night and the guy really has fought some killers throughout his career

Liddell
Nog
Belfort
Igor
Shogun
Kraritonov
Werdum
Arona
Hunt
Cro Crop
Rodgers
Lesnar
Big Foot

Add in JDS or Cain maybe before he's done.

Yea he has fought some good guys. Mostly at 205. His HW career sucks. And he lost to most all good 205ers he fought.

Brett the tire changer Rogers doesn't deserve to be on this list with legends. He is a can. Lesnar while a good wrestler was a joke especially when he fought Overeem. He has white belt level striking still.

Overeem's HW career is a joke. He lost to Werdum. I don't care what anyone says.

It's tough to give somebody a victory when they are falling to the floor every 5 seconds.

The people who get paid to decide these things disagree with you, and its what they say that counts. Just like in the Edgar fights. Opinions are nice, but it's in the records as a W for Overeem, no point is disputing long rested fact.
