Gus wasn't that impressive against Shogun or Thiago either.

The only "wow factor" Gus showed was his chin.

Henderson/Machida winner should get the next shot at Jones, asuming Jones gets past Sonnen. I think Sonnen may actually give Jones a better fight than most people expect.

Only way Sonnen beats Jones is an H Bomb........if Jones wants to predicable and simple hell Keep him at range til Chael realizes he can hit em he'll go for a sloppy TD and gets subbed. And to be honest I don't think Cormier would fare much better. He may have better Greco than Jones (and I'm not convinced at that) but that's where his advantage would stop. He would get lit up on the feet like everyone else has. The guy is short and has no reach. I do think he could get Jones down once but keep him there? No way. And if he keeps him down I def could see Bones getting his first sub off his back.

Honestly the biggest threat to Jones other than Anderson is Gus. While not as unpredictable as Jones his standup is just as crisp. He has a good chin and a killer. But alas if it goes to the ground it's over.

Now some sort of Cormier/Gus hybrid.....that would be interesting

Jones will probably pull guard on Chael and not like he did against Rashad or Rampage at the end of the round but probably as soon as the first round starts and Chael comes right at him. That's not something you see a lot and Bones likes to be unpredictable and creative and Chael's had some issues on the ground.

Jones definitely knows Chael is weak against subs and he'll exploit it. Unless he's having too fun murdering him on his feet.

Barnett is arguably the 2nd best HW grappler behind Werdum.

Mir is 3rd.

If DC can roll around with Barnett and not see any trouble whatsoever then i'm sure he could beat up Mir on the ground without being submitted.

If DC can make the cut, the title is his.

WAT?

Barnett is a garbage can full of cabbage... The only reason Mir isn't number one is because his takedowns suck. Werdum is right there with him but his takedowns suck too. Cains grappling is number one, he is a scramble master and uses his grappling not to control and submit you, but to beat the hell out of you. He is number one because his grappling is simply more effective.

Head-butting fists and KOing the air is not effective striking.

My list for grappling, not BJJ, def has Cain as number one.

As for BJJ i'd put Werdum as number one and Mir as number two.

I am talking about pure grappling and Barnett is a no gi world champion. Werdum is better than Mir by a decent margin.
