I agree. I makes no sense to acquire pride and then rid it of it's premiere fighters. It's no different from when a corporation acquires a minor competitor, and then lays off their workers
Don't get me wrong the prospects of Big Nog coming over to ufc is exciting, but in the long run it can only spell doom for pride, with others following suit.

Exactly, UFC can obviously see that CC will win the HW title and then they look at there HW pool and see absolutely no one (MAYBE Arlovski) who can touch him.
So Big Nog is the PERFECT person to bring in I think. It will sell PPV by the masses.
Nog can always come over for just 2 or 3 matches and then head back to Pride. Don't be surprised when CroCops contract is up, and he leaves the UFC to go back to Pride. This is more like a program exchange for the UFC and Pride, very few fighters will just jump ship and stay forever, not when they could have the best of both companies and get exposure.

Why does everyone think this spells doom for Pride? Nog is the first fighter to come to the UFC since the announced merger. One more and its over? I think we are jumping to conclusions.
