yep rankings are nothing but trouble since it's all based on opinion and not on good matchups or even wit when you are putting nelson and barry 3 and 4 on hw rankings. Let dana and joe silva handle it i've always liked how they operated

Jim Norton
Nick Dipaolo
Dave Attell
Dave Chappelle
Bill Burr
Joey Diaz
Colin Quinn
Bob Kelly
Rich Vos
Patrice O'Neal

There is a mathematical way to solve the rankings problem. Give everyone 100 points. If someone beats another they take 10% of his points. That way the more people you beat the higher your points. The bigger dogs you beat, the more points they will have to take. Eventually by applying that for a while you will get a very accurate ranking system.

I think it's and interesting idea but. Travis fulton would be your #1 ranked hw just via shear volume of fights.

I came here to rip apart these rankings.... but to be honest they look pretty reasonable. I certainly have my gripes, and the dude who had Pat Barry at 4 should not be counted anymore, but I'm all for an established hierarchy for the fans and fighters to be able to point to.

As long as we all realize that the rankings are who is where on "the ladder" and not necessarily the order from best to worst fighter these should be useful.

I never got what the hate behind trying to rank fighters is all about. Probably Chael's little rant about batman vs superman or whatever it was....

I'm all for rankings, if it can be done in a way that isn't more controversial than a Frankie Edgar decision loss.

The controversy is that you'll always have guys that rank Pat Barry 3rd, as an example. There is no concrete formula for proving who should be in the top 10, therefore it will always be people's opinions, and therefore stands to reason it will always be controversial.
