It'd be a different fight from their first for sure. Hunt has a lot better TDD and is stupidly strong himself. If Overeem does get it down though it's over. If Hunt touches Overeem's chin it's over. Not that that's ever been any different.

I saw some of the worst ground work from Overeem against bigfoot. He did absolutely nothing when he would take Bigfoot down. I really dont see him doing much more against Hunt if he does take him down.

When he starts going for a submission Hunt will pop back up.

it should be noted since bulking up overeems submission game has gone with his lean body, also hunt has been getting better and better with his BJJ defense so it shouldn't be an issue

I'd like to think so, but Overeem's ground game is still leaps and bounds beyond Hunt. I meant if Overeem had him down and KEPT him down. I can certainly see Hunt popping back up.

Well if you remember the first fight hunt actually took overeem down and I think he rocked him on the feet too, hunt eventually got swept with a kimura grip and then turned it into a keylock from side control, also momentum is everything hunt was on a terrible terrible run back then and actually is giving a shit about his MMA career ever since he got his first UFC win, also shrugging over kongo is a pretty decent feat grappling wise travis browne struggled with that.

It was a very strange submission(at least one you don't see too often in MMA). Hunt lands a big right and half drops Reem half follows up with a takedown. Gets into side control where Reem I think gets back to half guard, rolls and goes for an armbar then finishes with a keylock from the armbar. It's awesome (the sub, not Hunt losing )

Oh yeah Hunt is a thousand times the fighter he was back then. The fact he's made such an awesome run in the UFC is amazing.

edit -

Here is their first fight.

yeah it was a good sub and good bjj by reem but those days are long over, he now thinks he is the best striker to ever live with his hands down against bigfoot and all, hunt would knock his head into the 12th row

Overeem vs Hunt will look like Overeem vs Rogers.
Ovreem will not take any chances and risk a stand-up exchange. Take it to the ground and go for GnP. This will end quickly.

People said it would be an easy win for Overeem? Really?

I have and always thought Hunt would KO him. Overeem surely could win if he grappled. But he wouldn't. And he would be KO'd....just like he always would have.

Edit: actually who knows. Maybe Bigfoot knocked the cocky out of him. Maybe he would wrestle.
