Oh boy! You know you're great when the UFC is forcing your champ to go against fighters in higher weight classes; Kenflo, Edgar, and now Pettis.

Very tough battle for Aldo. This is the first fighter he'll face who's more powerful with a wider arsenal. If Aldo didn't tire out he'd have a better chance. I'd say 60/40 Pettis due to his length, reach advantage, good cardio (at 155 at least), and superb fire power.

Keys for Pettis
- Pettis has the ability to switch stance to nullify leg attacks in case one of his lead legs gets battered
- multiple disciplines to confuse his opponents (people say Cerrone wasn't in shape. It's not true. He didn't know how to react to the change of stance and the attacks that came from it; cartwheel kick, flying knee, and of course the left kick from south paw stance.)
- surprise attacks that nobody has seen
- speed and power

Keys for Aldo
- powerful leg kicks which is always a threat against anyone
- quicker
- it's his weight class so he's comfortable
- excellent training partners who can simulate Pettis (Basically Anderson. Anderson helped Wand in his fight against Cung and it really showed. Cung's kicks were ineffective more or less due to distance and preparation.)

I really wanted to see Pettis be crowned as the 155 king pin...not so much at 145 cuz that means somebody is gonna have to lose.

Ufc 159 is April 27....

There will be a PPV May 25 (160) in Vegas

One is June (161)

July 6 in Vegas (162)

Likely July 20 in Calgary (163? Rumoured to be Silva vs Weidman)

So that would make the Aldo vs Pettis Ufc 164 at the minimum

Ufc Events Attended:

Ufc Fight Night: Davis Vs Nogueira, Ufc 131, Ufc 143, Ufc 148, Ufc on Fox 5, Ufc 156, Ufc on Fox 8

I don't really get this matchup. Why would Pettis want to drop weight for a title fight when he's probably next in line for the title fight in his own weight class?

Maynard needs a win against another top 10 Lw like Cerrone or Grant before getting a title shot, he has only beaten Guida who isn't at Lw and wasn't a top 10

Wow. I can't believe they have made this happen. When I read that Pettis wanted the fight I thought it would be fun but didn't really take it seriously as they are in different weight divisions and Pettis is already a top contender at 155.

I know its early but this one has already got to be candidate for FOTY. I normally don't get too hyped for the lower weight fights but this one has high level fireworks written all over it.
