This is stupid. Pettis had a big problem with waiting. Not they are doing it all the way in August? Makes no sense.

Should be in Brazil since Pettis was able to call his shot and get the fight.

This is an awesome fight..but so is Aldo at 155 against a lot of guys. Pettis may want to be the first to beat him which would be a great achievement. He's already beat the LW holder before afterall.

Still..I wish this fight could be sooner, hate fighters sitting out so long. I personally would prefer to see Pettis face Bendo instead of Melendez, make Melendez fight someone else first IMO.

If Pettis loses to Bendo moving down may make more sense. If he loses to Aldo moving to 155 to get a title shot may be typical in the UFC these days but some people will say he should not get a title shot off a loss esp from a lower weight division.

August 3rd?

Why not June 3rd?

I wanted Bendo, I'll take Aldo, this sucks for KZ, Lamas and everyone else in line but this is just how the UFC does things now, I've accepted it and because of that I can really get into this. I still wanted Bendo just because I can't stand him and seeing Pettis humiliate him again would have been awesome but Aldo vs. Pettis?

You bet your ass I'm all in for this shit, and I'm rooting for Pettis all day.

If he beats Pettis decisively(finishes him), then he might as well move to 155 and challenge Hendo for the belt because he would probably beat him.

Don't agree on how UFC keeping having former LW cut the line in FW.

But this fight is going to be an epic stand up war! So far, it seems like the only way to beat Pettis is to wrestle him on the ground and grin him out of decision which Bendo or Melendez might very well do. For Aldo, like Pettis, likes to keep his fight standing up. This is going to be a FOTY candidate for sure.

Aldo chop down leg kick vs Pettis showtime kick!

Yah the last card I think was an aberration. Can't remember the last time I had a losing night with two out of three correct, but betting wise it was two out of two. I think I need to be wary of the Blackzillians now...haha! Upon further research they have the following records.

Miguel Torres = 0-2 in his last two, with a loss outside the ufc (he also trains in Tri-star)

Overeem = KO loss in a widely considered 'gimme' fight.

Rashad = Loss to a seemingly irrelevant LHW

Micheal Johnson = one of the best performing BLackzillians. A bad loss to Paul Sass, then Myles Jury.

Melvin Guillard = 0-2 at imperial with a KO loss

Matt Mitrione = 0-2 with a KO loss, but I'm not sure if he was at Imperial before the Kongo loss

JZ Cavalcante= 1-2 with a KO loss

Claude Patrick, Marcus Aurelio, and Villefort all lost their last fights as well

One thing I just researched is their low altitude training which does effect their conditioning. I had an instructor who mentioned about climate effecting various gyms. He may be onto something here.

- factor in the Miami lifestyle with beautiful mamas and maybe they're too busy partying and banging chicks...haha
