Gunnar by whatever he wants. He's better everywhere.

I'm picking Gunnar in this fight but I think an upset is very possible. Santiago was being touted as one of the better welterweights in the world before his previous return to the UFC , I think he is the toughest guy Gunnar has had to fight so far. Should be a good test for him and should give everyone a good idea of how good Gunnar actually is.

Completely disagree. Santiago should have never been cut. I expect him to be even better at WW.

Jorge was never that good. He had trouble in the UFC before. He left and racked up wins vs. average to well below average fighters. He got ranked because he had a lot of wins in a row. He came to the UFC and got dismantled and kicked out of any rankings.

He has some skill. But it doesn't translate well to big boy MMA. He gets KO'd quite easily. He has some sneaky submissions but that won't be a factor vs. Gunnar.

Gunnar should roll here.

He lost to Stann and Maia, no shame in that. He deserved to stay on roster. This will be his easiest fight in the UFC since he fought Leben in 06.

Maybe he did.

But he isn't exactly a name like Dan Hardy that casuals know. He probably commanded a decent pay for being a "top 10 fighter".

He couldn't hang with top 10 fighters....so they cut him. In 4 of 5 UFC fights he has been KO'd 3 times and lost the other 30-27 on all cards. The win was vs. a nobody.

If you come in and are paid more because of your ranking, expect to get cut if you don't live up to that ranking. Or anywhere even close.

He has some skills. He is good enough to be on the roster. Doesn't mean he shouldn't of been cut though. At some point he needs to win in the UFC. They didn't bring Jorge in last time to beat up on cans. They brought him in to tout him as a top 10 guy who would give other top 10s a hard time...and he hasn't.

Talent should trump name but as we have seen lately that just isn't the case. Jorge is 10x the fighter Hardy will ever be and that's just a fact. I just think it's BS he didn't get the same chance 99% of the fighters out there seem to be. I seems like everytime a fighter drops a weight class he is given 1 more chance. Almost every time. Pay could have been an issue for sure though since he was getting decent money due to his hype coming back to the UFC. But man he is still a top 15 talent and he could be even better at WW.

Well I like to live in the world of reality. ANd if your performance doesn't meet your pay then it is understandable if you are cut, especially if you aren't a name people know.

Yea, he could be a lot better at WW. But I don't think size was much of a factor in any of his fights. Maybe his chin will hold up better at this weight. Who knows. Will be interesting.

I don't agree that he is 10x the fighter Hardy is. Maybe a little better, but not a great deal better in my opinion.
