Thing is... Ronda fought at 145lbs before... that's why people are saying this fight should be able to happen at even a catchweight.

It can happen, the question is should it? Why does the champion move up in weight to fight. I am sure many fighters have fought above their optimum weight class to get fights at some point in their career. A champion should not have to.

I am really not that big a fan of Rousey, but I am much less a fan of Cyborg.

Gina came in and got the focus on Women's MMA at 145, Cyborg took the torch and then doused it in Steroids. Now Rhonda comes in and reignites it at 135 and Cyborg can move down or move on.

The only reason Cyborg can't cut is because of steroid abuse. The same reason she's probably infertile. Whatever.

You can't know that for sure. I am so tired of everyone bashing on her. I despise her probably just as much as the next person does, but that doesn't mean I'm going to sit behind my computer screen and spew factual inaccuracies. The bottom line is that yes, she used roids, yes that's probably part of the reason she can't make the cut. There is however no evidence to support that being the only reason she can't make the cut. It is very likely that there are other factors in play here that people are so willing to overlook due to her sketchy PED past.

I don't think the steroids is the reason she's saying she can't make weight. I'm sure she's off them but looking at one of her early fights she looked ripped even then. That being said I don't think all that muscle is just from the steroids, I think she's just a freak of nature.

Why should she have to drop to a weight class just because UFC put so much emphasis on Rousey?

Cyborg IMO is a better fighter and been around longer in the sport. Sorry, it should be a catch weight fight if it ever happened. Do it at 140lb and watch Cyborg demolish Ronda.

I remember when Dana was gun-ho about never having women's MMA, yet here they are with one division. He does realize there are a few more divisions he could add. Hell he could have started with the 2 most popular that strikeforce had.

If I were Cyborg, I'd sign the fight deal and get the catchweight fight. Then, make the $$ and take home Rousey's head
Because the weight class is 135

Rashad Evans fought at HW before but that doesn't mean he should have to fight JDS at CW if he calls him out

That's a pretty good comparison I think. Though I think they're using the catch weight for Kimbo v Alexander and Fedor v Henderson as precedents. However, I think for now this is good.
