If I were a woman fighter and I heard Dana say "it's the Ronda Rousey show" then watched the Primetime, I would also want out. What's the point in fighting for an organisation that couldn't care less about you.
They could easily make a 140 division but no, Ronda is 135 so they'll keep it like that for her.
Why should she have to drop to a weight class just because UFC put so much emphasis on Rousey?
Cyborg IMO is a better fighter and been around longer in the sport. Sorry, it should be a catch weight fight if it ever happened. Do it at 140lb and watch Cyborg demolish Ronda.
I remember when Dana was gun-ho about never having women's MMA, yet here they are with one division. He does realize there are a few more divisions he could add. Hell he could have started with the 2 most popular that strikeforce had.
If I were Cyborg, I'd sign the fight deal and get the catchweight fight. Then, make the $$ and take home Rousey's head
Cyborg can read the writing on the wall: her prior, systematic use of PEDs won't fly anymore. She just watched Overoid morph into Overeem and get mauled without the PEDs. she's also not the top dog in the division, and wants to be catered too.
The question is, without Strikeforce, where does she go and get big $, high profile fights?
Dumb move dude.
Oh, and I'm sure the "standing, pee-in-a-cup" drug test thing was a factor too.
If it is true (doctor's recommendation) about being detrimental cutting that much weight then it's best to explore other options.
History could have been different. Had Cyborg not been caught with PEDs she could have very well been the champ still meaning she would be the one fighting on that card at 140/145.
It's too bad. It really is. Cyborg is a machine an Amazonian warrior. She may not have the looks, but she can fight.

Bellator... Invicta... you know, organizations with actual divisions for WMMA.
I'm a fan of WMMA but I really wouldn't be sad if Liz knocked out Ronda or completely owned her and Dana closed it up, this division should have been Women's 140 from the very start, but he's so obsessed with Rousey and protecting her from Cyborg they're losing out on the biggest fight they could do for WMMA.

I know Bellator and Invicta have WMMA. What I was referring to was where she could go to get as highly visible and financially lucrative fight(s) as she could in the UFC? She'd headline a PPV if she fought Rousey. That was my only point.
It's the Eddie Alvarez UFC vs. Bellator financial argument, and the UFC has the $$.
