Exactly what is it that shows you that Lebron and Dwight Howard don't have iron will, tenacity and heart?

Your ignorance on this topic is as clear as the Andaman Sea on a sunny day.

I am an MMA, Muay Thai, Kickboxing and BJJ fan first and foremost. Basketball, Football (Soccer), Rugby (League and Union) and Athletics are all sport I like a lot.

I see NBA players as the best athletes on average though.

Really? Because judging by your posts you seem to all about basketball my friend.

Fair enough, I can't prove that these basketball people you mention have heart and iron will, but you can't prove to me that they do.

Pretty awesome Silva made the list, as cliched as it may sound, even if he doesn't win...it's an honour just to be nominated

I'd rank rugby & hockey players* above basketball, maybe American Football, too. (depends on position) Then there's triathlon, gymnasts, decathletes, stuff like that. The term "athlete" just isn't clear enough for anyone to declare anything definitively, IMO. What this amounts to is a popularity contest, basically.

*because, like Silva, they fight!

Yeah it figures. No way was Andy ever winning this, and he shouldn't. But it's damn cool that he's on there

Even though my vote would have been for #23 I went with The Spider to try to create more awareness for MMA in general. I think it's still a novelty sport in some regions. People watch it, but still not at the lengths of the other majors.

Anyways I conceptualized a funny idea where the contestants challenge each other in their own respective sport. Whoever wins with the widest of margins moves on. Sound fair?

Marcus Aurelius: Tell me again, Maximus, why are we here?
Maximus: For the glory of the Empire, sire.

Baked, not fried... the healthy choice.
