I don't think he would have did a good as Machida did, probably would have lasted longer but in terms of hitting him I don't think he would have touched him, he would have walked right into elbows before he could land the H-Bomb.

...There's so much new and great talent in all the divisions, the match-ups are getting more & more intense. I think Sonnen getting JBJ is complete BS after getting Anderson. So Sonnen is the #1 contender at LHW just like that? This cutting the line has to stop. I think Glover, Shogun or Machida would be a nice, bloody-warm welcome for Chael into the LHW division. I really want to see a Gus/ Jones match-up because of the length factor and Gus has pretty good hands & footwork. They both have to cover distance and if Gus gets off first, things could get real interesting...

Jones do not have great boxing like Gustafsson has. If Gus gets of first and land a decent punch he can keep a steady pace of breaking Jones down.

Jones would have to immediately get a clinch and takedown because I do not think he can defend. He will have zero use of his reach and elbows vs Gus if he is forced to defend.

I suspect Jones will open the fight like he did vs Vera with a very fast takedown attempt, If he manages to take Gus down early I think the figth is probably over then.

My bet is that if Jones lands a takedown before 3 minutes into the fight then Jones wins. If he doesn't, the fight is pretty much even.

To me, this fight isn't about Alexander Gustaffson and his rise from unknown to star, it's about Gergard Mousasi and where he is now in his career. Mousasi brings with him a big fan base and credibility. If he loses to Gustaffson, then that would be a huge upset and would only make his rise to the top of the LHW division harder. Bcause Gustaffson manhandled Shogun. That's scary. Is Gustaffson really that damn good? Can't wait for this fight.

This fight isn't one of those "the fans wanted it" fights or "Dana's playboy" fights. This is one of those fights that have to happen to determine the future of the LHW division for years to come.

Oh yeah I'm sure. Just like Hendricks was next, just like whoever was most impressive on that Fox card, etc. I hope one day the UFC will do real #1 Contender's fights and bill it as such. Not Dana telling MMA reporters that Fighter X will probably get a title shot if he wins.

Now that they have "official ranking" I think they will try to have legit contenders. Gust is currently ranked 3rd. Though Hendo and Machida are 1 and 2. So really the winner of Hendo/Machida should get Jones

I agree... sometimes I feel like Dana is just saying "this fight is for the #1 contedership" just to bring more interest to it.
