Actually in a Post fight interview with Franklin I think at USA VS CANADA the reporter asked Rich what he thought about Him fighting Liddell in the near future and he said somthing like Be my guest, If he decides to drop down to MW then it will be an amazing match. Chances are when Chuck looses his title to Silva and after the Rematch with Tito he'll drop down and fight him.

P.S Rich franklin did get dropped in his Last fight against Tanner. |

chuck will never go down to 185 hes too big..rich could easily fight at 205, he walks around at like 212..if they did fight i think this would be an incredible fight..both would tee off on each other but i see chuck eventually catching rich with a nice shot and gettin the tko...but i think this fight would be very even chuck wins cuz he got a better chin thats all

the only way liddell could drop weight is if he cut a leg off. Franklin would have to move up, and even though he is my favorite fighter, I'd give it to Chuck. I think everybody would be suprised by the lack of strikes, I think they'd end up throwing alot of kicks, but in the end, Chuck would grind him out. This match would definatly end on somebody making a mistake

I just came up with logics on why Liddell would KO him.
1.Franklin is smaller
2.Franklin has been dropped by Evan Tanner and The Crow (EVAN TANNER DROPPED HIM WITH A PUNCH never said he won did I?
3.Liddell is a skilled striker with a punch that takes out Heavy weights.
4.Rich Doesn't have the best take downs and he's going against one of the best take down defense artist in the bussiness.
5.Even if he did Chuck is a master at getting back to his feet.And is a purple belt in BJJ so it would be hard for him to get submitted.
These are just things that i came up with |

up a weight class down a weight class chuck walks away with this, i love rich, but there is no way chuck will lose to him, franklin's chin is in question, yes he did get dropped by tanner, and tanner is not really know for his strike standing, it's simple really rich wouldn't be able to take chuck down, and rich is definately not dumb enough to stand up and bang with chuck, so love you ace but you won't get out of this alive!

On his day he could beat Chuck. Rich is extremely well versed in all areas and possibly one of the best rounded fighters.

We seem to all agree that Rich would have to move up. I agree that 205 is not a stretch for him. I disagree that this fight would be lopsided. Franklin has great, yes I said GREAT, striking. People don't notice his striking because it is precise and methodical. Raining bombs like Chuck does is what gets noticed. Bringing up the Crow fight is ridiculous since Rich barely looked winded and the Crow looked worse than Shamrock after his first beating by Ortiz. I agree that the smart money would still be on Chuck but it would be no cake walk. Can't wait for the Silva fight.
