What happens to MMA gyms when this generation of collegiate and olympic coaches retire?
an unfortunate dark era of mediocre wrestling until it returns to the olympics, really sad stuff but not surprising

If they bring in skateboarding.. BMXing and Inline skaters are going to kick up a fuss of why there sport isnt an olympic sport, not that i agree skateboarding should be anyway, since theres not really a competetive edge to it like the other olympic sports, aswell as that i expect itl only be Vert. Not slamming either of the sports i used to skate, but to have that in the olympics and take out wrestling would leave me rather

It'll be good in the immediate short run but bad in the long run. I say it'll be good in the short run because the wrestlers who are training now will have nowhere to go. So instead of training for the olympics, some will go straight to mma. But in the long run it's awful because there won't be any wrestlers left.

Will make predictions for credits. Please, I'm so broke.

It's merely an opinion cuz I'll actually watch it. Of course wrestling shouldn't be taking out so I'll opt for skateboarding or karate.

I have no clue why this is even happening, but if it's to build more viewers skateboarding is pretty big especially with the younger demo. It's not even a debate though, no matter what sport comes in people will be poo pooing it.

This takes some acrobatics to land.

I agree, others will not. I'd describe it as more of an athletic hobby, or "thing to do". Parkour isn't a sport, but requires skill and core body strength -- neither is skateboarding.

There is already the X-games for all those "extreme" sports. I don't see what the point of putting them in the olympics is. They have the X-games crowd, leave it at that.

I was pretty surprised to hear wrestling will be removed from the olympics - it's a pretty traditional sport that has existed for a long time, and popular outside of the USA collegiate scene too. I'd be curious to know the reasons. They kept the "modern pentathalon" - a sport that combines fencing, horse riding, swimming, running and shooting. Kind of a joke if you ask me - more and more why the olympics is becoming un-watchable. Replacing the Olympics with the X-games isn't the answer either.

Sure i can see where your coming from, as much as i despise it, is Tennis an Olympic sport? That would make more sense since it would be a bit more easier to understand for the casual viewer (like myself). I definatley feel theres a few other sports that could be put before skateboarding, like previously posted keep it at X-Games. Cool vid there dont think he would get scored for that since hes not on the same board, and theres 2 worlds to skating would they include street skating in the Olympics aswell as Vert?
