Pat Barry: Weight cut to 205 is pointless [VIDEO]

Here's a video of Pat Barry explaining why he doesn't plan on going to 205. (He starts talking about it around 8:15)

So everyone hoping Pat Barry makes the drop to 205, you can eliminate that from your wishlist...

Fair enough. I think there are too many Wrestlers at 205 for him anyway.

Yeah, I think a lot of people over look the strengths of each division. There are a lot of accomplished wrestlers are 205 that would ruin Barry's day.

Plus he would lose some of his biggest weapon... his power. I think Pat is a very realistic fighter. He's not claiming to be the best or mapping his way to a title shot. He seems to just be going out there to earn a check and do his job.

I think he is misunderstanding what people are trying to say. It's not that cutting to 205 makes him a better fighter. Cutting down to 205 evens the playing field so that he"s not at such a size and weight disadvantage in the weight-class in which he's fighting in. With the skills that he possesses, I think he could be a force at 205 lbs. Just my opinion though...

Crocop weighs less than him and got him down and subbed him. He is right it is a skill issue and having to cut a bunch of weight for every fight would take away from his development as a fighter.
