Welcome to the ******* real world guys, that's not how it works.
well, "lay and pray" can only happen if the opposing fighter is less skilled. Thus, if anyone should be cut, is the fighter with the lack of grappling skills, not the fighter that can implement his game plan.
From another (non-MMA-related) forum - and I agree fully.

Man, I already miss having some real competition for the UFC & I'm just tired of this crap. F*@% this $#!< .

People generally are cut for losing so that person and you are actually not making any kind of point. The point DW is making isn't that grapplers need to stand and strike it is that they become less expendable when they lose and will make more money when they win if they actually try to hurt and finish their opponent. It isn't about strikers versus grapplers it is about this being the fight business and thus you need to actually fight or no one is going to pay to see you.

The UFC is a business. They aren't cutting guys because they don't like them. Well maybe in Fitch's case. They make business decisions. They can't keep everyone. They have more fighters on their roster than ever, Dana said they have about 100 too many fighters still.

Don't call it a BS cut when you have no idea what the details are in the contracts and how they go about releasing guys.

If a sports team cuts a guy, no one calls it BS. Fans may have wanted the guy to stay on the team, but no one knows the details.

UFC is making cuts it sees fit. They have a ton of fighters.
