But that's the point. No wrestlers have been able to implement their wrestling with Machida because they can't. He's wrestling defense is the best in the game. Sonnon would not have a chance against him. He's actually got a better chance against Jones IMO, but we'll see what happens there.

I just think you're wrong across the board on Lyoto, though. Sounds like you just don't like him, as your comments are more emotional that analytical. That's what I'm seeing, anyway.
Yeah, you've got me. I dislike Machida

Or maybe it's you who's thinking too much like a diehard fan. Randy Couture used next to no wrestling against Machida. Fact. Ryan Bader stood with and actually charged at Machida. Fact. This isn't me being emotional... this is what legitimately happened, so I don't think that you can use either Couture or Bader as examples of wrestlers' strategies gone awry. It's easy to claim that Couture and Bader could not implement their wrestling game plans against Machida when they didn't come in and actually, you know, attempt to implement wrestling game plans.

And what Rampage Jackson believes is irrelevant. The judges scored it in his favour. This is because he was able to outmuscle and control Lyoto Machida. Calling it 'laziness' on Lyoto's part is a bit of a cop-out and sounds like something a rampant fan would say.

Besides, even if I were to humour you and ignore Rampage's victory... just because few wrestlers have found success against Machida doesn't mean that it's impossible. You take a world class wrestler who is known to walk through the hardest of punches to grab hold of a man and it makes for an interesting matchup. To claim that Sonnen has literally no chance against Machida is just daft.

Sonnen vs Machida could be a very interesting fight. Guys like Henderson and Rampage were able to take Machida down but maybe Lyoto's TDD wasn't as good against those two because he was too focused on avoiding their power. When someone fights Sonnen, all they have to worry about is the TD because he has nothing to offer standing. Assuming Chael gets the TD, I don't think he has to worry about submissions. Henderson was on top of Lyoto tonight and Lyoto didn't try a thing. Just held on.

Will make predictions for credits. Please, I'm so broke.

Nothing to offer standing? He managed to put Anderson on his ass once or twice

You already know Machida will come in light and ready to get on the wheel for 5 rounds.

You're right. We don't see Sonnen's stand up too often so I forgot how good it was.

Sonnen KO Round 1

Well lets just say if he does not complete his mission he will be going down south and HOPEFULLY his comrade in arms will move up to finish the job for Blackhouse.

Maximus: For the glory of the Empire, sire.

There hasn't been a wrestler who has sucessfully controlled Machida with the notable exception of Jon Jones who has wrecked everybody. Even then, Machida got back up. The distance of his stance and his speed and pedalling are too muchfor most wrestlers to make a shot and be succesful at completing it.

Machida is a beast in the clinch as well. I love how the haters and Hendo lovers erase how easily he was able to trip Hendo who was allegedly supposed to grind Machida out with his superior wrestling. Machida has pretty awesome TDD and his own bag of trips to dish out

Sonnen, though an awesome wrestler and a middleweight(?) isn't on the outset a likely candidate to wrestle win Machida. If Silva was able to stuff Sonnen, as soon as he decided to actually distance himself properly, Machida shouldn't have many problems either. Also, Machida has pretty great defensive jits and get up ability.

This is before we talk about the striking disparity.

Jones however, beats Machida again I am fairly sure. There's nothing new in Machida's game that tells me he'll be able to dethrone Jones. Which is cool, cause them he and Anderson can switch divisions.

Machida loses to Sonnen?

Lol Chael doesn't have Hendo's power, Machida eats him up.

It's too long to wait... the LHW division is being managed so poorly right now. If Gustafsson beats Mousasi, he is undeniable No.1 Contender I don't care what anyone says. It's also perfect timing to set up a fight with Jones vs Sonnen winner.

Right now Machida is No.1, but these guys need to be active. Machida doesn't really suffer with long layoffs but in truth it's not good for anyone. He just did 3 rounds with a dangerous guy so hopefully he can take a lot from that.

Not believing this statement for one minute.

Machida would walk through Sonnen, and Jones will walk through Machida again.

But Jones will also walk through Sonnen...I just hope Bones takes it easy against Lyoto this time
