MMA Super Bowl

We all know about Zuffa buying Pride FC, but now the question is, what's next? So there will be a "mma super bowl" according to Dana, but what ring will it be fought in. If they hold the event in a ring all it proves is that who ever wins is the best in the ring, like wise for a cage. There needs to be some new element involved to make it a nutral fighting ground where no fighter has an advantage. Maybe a half ring half cage or something. I am not sure how they will deal with this, but atleast in my mind it doesnt make since to just fight in one or the other. They could always do it like the ryder cup and switch off every year, and make the winner kind of like a pride grand prix champ or something.

in my opinion, they might try a ufc vs pride event at least once a year, ala wrestlmania for wwe. I think they would make a shit load of money doing it, but like i said it would only be once a year

they will do it once a year in my idea. maybe twice.
but about cage and ring , yeah it will be an important issues.

i am sure Nevada state commission does not allow tournament format.
maybe they can do it in japan...

I think they should probably do something like a 4-sided cage, that's about as close to a ring and octagon as you're gonna get.

What the UFC should do in my opinion is do a tournament style event, such as the GP, but hold it over the course of several events (similar to what Pride and K1 do, but only allowing each fighter one fight a night). You get your GP champ midway through the year and then he fights the Pride GP champ.

They could even designate certain fights on regular PPV cards as GP preliminaries ... yada yada.

I don't think changing the rules over in Japan would win the UFC much favor with Nevada, so I don't see that happening.
