Ok seriously why is this guy getting a title shot? He lost to Carlos he then wines a whole lot then quits the business then comes back and never shows up to any promotional events or business calls and is offered a title shot despite his last fight being a loss and all the crap he pulled.

Its no secret I have no respect for nick as a man but really can anyone tell me what has he done to deserve the title shot?

He's getting a title fight because GSP said he wanted it and Dana said GSP has done a lot for the UFC and if he really wants it, he can have it.

But, back in the world of reality, GSP vs. Diaz sells a lot better than GSP vs. Hendricks, and they need to fight before Diaz loses again and the fight loses its steam more than it already has - that is why they are fighting.

because it will make money. and there is only really one other guy at WW who hasn't had a shot yet but deserves one and he's pretty bland in comparison.

we get it, you hate nick. a lot of the mma world feels strongly about him on way or the other. but its that polarizing quality that is going to sell ppv's.

Welcome back buddy. It really boils down to GSP having sway. The fight that was slated had nothing to do with the WW belt. After Anderson tiger kneed Bonnar in the solar plexus he was calling out GSP and the UFC brass + media were all over it. Sadly GSP turned it down even at a catchweight. Although Firaz said they might welcome Anderson at 170.

Hendricks was on the table, but GSP felt that Kos beat him in their match so didn't feel that he quite "deserved it." Hey it's his opinion. Diaz is a way funner fight.

Enter Diaz. Basically, it's unfinished business. A fight that should have happened. GSP wants to hurt em bad.

Finally ---> sound of cash register ringing.
Hendricks fight = 600k ppvs
Diaz - 750k+ ppvs
*Anderson - 1.5 million

That's basically it, in a nutshell.

PS: That's one of my fav quotes from TR. Here's one that's similar from MLK.

"The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy."

Let me bring you up to speed on the UFC.

The women had a fight, Rousey won by armbar....go figure.

Flyweight is stalled for a bit as Mighty Mouse is out.

Barao won impressively vs. Mike McDonald, but MM shows promise in the future. Cruz is scared of Barao.

Aldo won vs. Frankie and is supposedl fighting Pettis in the summer.

Bendo beat Nate Diaz pretty easily, now Gil his teammate will come over from SF and challenge him.

Diaz is getting a title shot because GSP wanted him too. Hendricks has been crying like a little kid for months.

Anderson isn't doing much as the MW division apparently sucks. Looks like him and Weidman will get it on when Chris returns.

Bones is wasting all of our time doing this show, ready to fight Chael Sonnen. Machida beat Hendo with his keep away style. Gustaf is the rightful #1 contender.

Cain beat the crap out of JDS. Overeem lost to Bigfoot. Mark Hunt will beat them all.
