I'd dabbled in a few Pride events and various minor leagues in the early 2000s but didn't get big into watching MMA until GSP left UCC/TKO for the UFC. From there I started watching a bit more Pride, some K1, etc. There's nothing wrong with coming along a bit later than others, especially if you're interested enough to go back and watch past events, etc. Youtube and the Fight Network are fairly easy avenues for getting caught up.
Yeah I didn't really become a fan until UFC hit SPIKE. I watched here and there before that but never really saw anything live. First live fight I remember checking out was Chuck vs Tito in 2004. But even then I was a very casual fan. I didn't see any Pride shows live until their final year. But I have gone back since then and watched plenty of fights that took place before that time. Still there are people that have been watching MMA for much longer then I have.

I got into it when Chuck and Tito were in the process of fighting. Thats when my interest became obsessive. Then I started getting into Pride, and Japanese MMA.

I followed Pride & some K1 from like 2002, but actually didn't start watching the UFC until about UFC 86 I think.

Have gone back and watched all UFC events efterwards tho.

Are you trolling by saying he is overrated?

Sure he was never the same after the horrific bike crash that some people in the medical profession didn't think he would walk let alone compete at the highest level in mma.

Lets look at some of his accolades...

Most wins in UFC Heavyweight division in history (14)
Most fights in UFC Heavyweight division in history (20)
Most finishes in UFC Heavyweight division in history (11)
Third most wins by submission in UFC history (8)
Most wins by submission in UFC Heavyweight division in history (8)
Fastest submission in UFC Heavyweight division in history (46 seconds)
Fought five different UFC Heavyweight Champions
Defeated four different UFC Heavyweight Champions
Also only person to sub Nog in MMA history

Not a bad run for someone who I guess is a can in your book?

Saying that I think DC does take the W in this fight but mainly due to his questionable chin and DC'd wrestling, but if it hits the ground I think it depends which limb Mir decides to take home with him.
