Rory by demolition. He's stronger has insane gnp and he's at the point in his career when he goes away from a few months and comes back highly improved everytime.

When Diaz lost to Condit and Nate was about to fight Bendo, everyone was saying "Nate is so much better than Nick, he's more diverse, he's not just a boxer he has a more complete game" blah blah blah. Then in typical Diaz fashion he gets de-railed. Now all of a sudden, Nick is fighting for the belt and since Nate lost recently, everyone knows that Nick is way better than Nate.

No, they're both incomplete fighters who lose to wrestlers. Rory ragdolled Nate. Two of the judges scored it 30-26.

I know Rory is one of the strongest guys in the ww division and has good wrestling, but I'm not sold on his submission defense. He hasn't went to the ground with anyone with Nicks level of bjj. I'm not convinced that Rory is able to survive the sub attempts. And if he stands with Nick, we all know how hard it is to deal with Nick on the feet. Very dangerous match-up for Rory imo.

yeahh.. Rory did not destroy Nate, it was a pretty competitive fight but all anyone seems to remember is the 3 suplexes.. nate just got controlled, he took almost no damage so the judges that scored 30-26 must have been eating mushrooms or other hallucinogens...

Head-butting fists and KOing the air is not effective striking.

And the judges are incompetent everyone knows that, it was an even fight with rory edging it until the 3 suplexes which is the only thing people seem to remember and it didn't even faze nate. I always said nick was the better brother mainly because he got his younger brother into martial arts when he already started a while in, better grappler and better boxer and probably better cardio but who the hell knows, and also nick doesn't fall down from leg kicks.

should the fight happen right after the GSP fight (i.e. about right now) I think Diaz experience wins him this bout. Rory is young and green. The 1st round would be the hardest for Diaz, but body shots will eventually end up eating Rory's gas tank, the 2nd would be even and the 3rd would see nick dominating in the stand up and rory reluctant on TDs.

it would be a fun and entertaining match up for sure, possibly ending in a controversial split decision for a 3 rounder, but I see Diaz winning a main event/5 rounder agains rory anyday of the week and twice on sundays.

and I'm far from being a diaz fan (tho his attitude and words at the pre fight conference definitely made me respect him more)

I've never heard anyone say Nate is better than Nick. Nick Diaz is 10x the fighter Nate is and ime a fan of them both. If you put Nate and Nick in that cage, Nick would win 10 times out of Ten.

Diaz..Edgar.. Cormier.. Cain.. Mir.. Overeem.. Jon Jones

Plenty of people claimed Nate was better than Nick after he stomped Jim Miller. All it takes is a simple forum search. There are plenty of fairweather fans at this site who jump from one bandwagon to the next. If Nick gets dominated tonight and Nate wins against Josh Thompson in impressive fashion, I expect people will be talking about how much more Nate has evolved yet again.

You're only as good as your last fight with most MMA fans. Which is why Nate is back to being the 'other brother' for the time being.
