George is taking too much damage!!

I am a GSP fan so this isnt a bump on him but I think he is ripe for the pickings. I didnt see him taking any clean shots last night but his face was a wreck. Somebody like Ellenberger or Hendricks ( who can hit and wrestle ) is going to be trouble. That being said I also like Diaz but he was embarrasing last night. He has nothing to offer but his mouth.

I'm sure GSP has some scar tissue in his face and that's why he bruises and bleeds easily. Same goes for fighters like Edgar and Nick Diaz. Wandy got his whole face redone because of it.

If Hendricks last 6 fights are anything to go by then Hendricks is going to (T)KO GSP, after each decision he gets a ko!

It's only the last two fights where he took a lot of damage. Particularly the Condit fight. Every other title defense Georges has taken very little abuse.

He ate a few good shots from Nick, but nothing particularly damaging. He says he bruises easily, and some people simply do. He did take a significant amount of damage from Condit, but hey... it's Condit.

Sheilds messed up his eye badly

Personally I think his issue is 50% mental(he's just tired of everything) and 50% the weight cut he's getting bigger for a MW run and the cut to WW is getting harder as he gets older.

You should see his first fight with BJ Penn. When the fight was over, his face looked even more ****ed up then the Diaz fight

Before Diaz got his surgery he was easy to cut open. That pretty much cost him the EliteXC LW title. That might end up costing GSP as well if he doesn't keep an eye on it.

You forget that this isn't just some brutal sport where everyones out to kill each other. Its much more like a game of physical chess.-looney liam

I noticed the same thing. Which has me wondering if his knee reconstruction has affected his quickness, or whether he simply doesn't trust the knee 100% and hasn't trained it as hard as previous to the injury. Last two fights have looked like the start of the downward slope for his career. I hope it isn't true, but that's what it looks like to me.

I think George isnt taking enough damage.....I dont like or dislike George and I find the fact that he always survives and wins outstanding but I personally would like to see him take horrible horrible damage in a great fight and win instead of the last 4 years of taking a little bit of damage in boring fights. The last fight was the most interesting George fight in a while....simply because Diaz blocked a takedown.
