Will Carlos Condit ever be an undisputed UFC Champion?

Carlos is my favorite WW, and has been for a long time. I personally think an argument could be made for him to have gotten the judges nod Saturday, but I also have no problem with Johnny picking it up... it was super close and an awesome fight. Having said that my question is this. Carlos will be 29 next month, and I don't think he's at his primie yet. Most male athletes tend to peak in their early 30s. I believe Carlos has the ability to stop GSP, and could beat Hendrix in a rematch. Anyway, I truly believe Carlos will eventually hold the belt, if only for a few fights... what do you guys think?

Nope. Can't wrestler welterweight is notorious for monster wrestlers

This, plus he is too big to go down to LW and too small to go up to MW.

I think he will always hang around the top, but until he has adequate TDD I don't think he will be the champ.

Depends whose holding the belt.

As long as GSP is holding it, then it will be hard because of his already mentioned wrestling hole. He really needs to do something about that, if he wants a real chance (if he could have improved his wrestling/wrestling-defense by a 20% or so, he would be having a rematch with GSP this summer/fall ... improve by 50% and he'd have a solid chance against GSP.)

Other than that, if someone with weaker wrestling happens to take over the championship, then I don't see why Carlos couldn't have as good a chance as anyone else.

This, also GSP would have to be not competing in that division.

As long as the name GSP continues strikes fear into a Welterweight competitor's heart, Condit will never hold the belt. He is top 5, potentially. I think Rory MacDonald will beat Condit next time.

I think he's already a solid top 3. I think Rory beats him too though.

If it was anyone other than GSP at the top he'd have a shot for sure. Condit is champion-material, but right place, wrong time.

In any other organization, he'd easily be champion. Carlos would maul Ben Askren.

In the UFC, however, he's top 2-3. I still think he has what it takes to beat Johny Hendricks. GSP, however, is another story.
