I am split about this matchup.

Pro Silva:
- he toyed with Griffin and Bonnar at light heavyweight. He made those wins look so easy.
- Silva has the best standup in MMA history.

Against Silva:
- If Sonnen could hold Silva down for like an entire round in their 2nd fight (not mentioning 1st fight since Silva was injured) imagine what Jones could do having a size advantage.

My verdict is:
Silva wins by TKO.

I think I would have to go with Silva, he has the speed, power, reach and desire to beat Jones. If Anderson takes the fight, he will be prepared to beat Jones IMO.

I'll be going all in on Silva if this fight ever happens. Silva's striking is on another level. Jones might take him down and pound on him, though. I still think Silva tkos Jones in round 1 or 2.

Chael would be unbearable if he beat Jones. He'd probably call himself a two division UFC champ.

...Speculation is the theme for now. Truth is Dana really wants this fight. He's brought it up more than once. WE ALL want this fight. It's like the Ali vs. Frazier of MMA. It's not a matter of if...but when. It will be the biggest PPV in UFC history, surpassing all records making UFC 148 look tiny in comparison. Straight up---Both Anderson & Jones have the ability to finish each other. After watching Anderson just drop his hands and eat shots from Bonner then land another highlight knee finish, he's ready to face Jones. Anderson hits like a truck at 205, with his speed, unmatched accuracy, head & foot movement and his unpredictable striking makes this the most intriguing fight ever. Jones has the nastiest stand-up in the LHW division. Then add in his freakish size, reach, wrestling and sick ground n' pound we have a match-up that will blow us away...

Anderson is older and jones is still peeking it would be a fantastic technical fight but Jones would control Anderson with his reach the whole fight!

If this fight never happens, I'll be disappointed. If some craziness happens like AS or JJ lose their next fights, would still like to see these 2 go at it though.

I would say it is Ali vs Foreman !
Silva having the fluidness of Ali while Jones having the physical BEAST of Foreman.
It also fits young vs old since Silva i.e. Ali was beyond his peak facing a younger Foreman.

Jones did not control Machida in the standup. Silva has the same speed and technique of Machida and hence Jones will not control him either.

I like it especially the The Spider vs The Rush flyer. Something about that design. Nice find!
