Matt Riddle on Dana White: He's a Juice Monkey Who's Uneducated to the Sport

Former UFC welterweight Matt Riddle was released from the promotion last month after testing positive for marijuana for the second time in the past eight months.

Since then, he has had an ongoing dialogue with UFC President Dana White about the way the UFC conducts its business and "Deep Waters" is not a fan.

In an interview with StephanieJoplin.com, Riddle responded to White's comments from last week that he was cut because he's a "f****** moron."

Quote:
Even now, I donít have a dislike for Dana White or the UFC. But really, heís just a juice monkey whoís bald, who doesnít know sh** about business. He just yells the F word and expects things to be handed to him ... What should I do? Should I get angry? Find out where Danaís house is in Vegas? Ask him why the f**k did you fire me? Dana White should be thankful I am on medication!
Riddle was joking about the medication remark, though he does have a medical marijuana license in the state of Nevada.

The failed drug tests really put a damper on the new Drysdale BJJ student's career, having two recent victories overturned to no-contents.

While Riddle was able to keep his $65,000 "Submission of the Night" bonus for submitting Chris Clements with an arm triangle at UFC 149 in July, he was subsequently fined and suspended 90 days for his first failed drug test.

The 27-year-old, who is now signed with Legacy Fighting Championships, remains firm on his stance that marijuana is not a performance-enhancing drug.

Furthermore, he believes White should be more concerned about the number of UFC fighters using steroids.

Quote:
Dana WhiteÖitís sad but heís uneducated to the sport and the industry. Heís calling me a moron for using my medicine when half his fighters are on steroids. Itís pretty offensive, but at the same time, I am looking at the source, and he canít help himself.
Riddle has already gone on the record stating he would probably not return to the UFC in the future since he doesn't like the direction the company is moving in, so his beef with White is likely to continue for a while.
God I love this guy, breh hasn't bought any wolf tickets.

Dana White said he believes marijuana shouldn't be a banned substance. At least not on the same level of severity as steroids and other legitimate PED's.

Its the athletic commissions and government regulated aspect of MMA that decides what is a banned substance and what isn't. And what the penalty for testing positive is. That's what government regulation means.

Dana doesn't run the athletic commissions, its not his call what suspensions or penalties a positive test result merit.

Its funny how those who rant the loudest about others being uneducated and not understanding things are usually talking about themselves. I love irony!

And if being a f***** moron is a firing offense, then how come we just watched GSP vs Diaz and not GSP vs Hendricks?

It's bullshit, they cut Fukadu for cold medicine, if you are going to cut drug users cut roiders don't indulge this commission idiocy.

Because 2 out of 3 of his last fights he tested positive for a substance that is banned. Regardless of what Dana thinks the regulations should be, it is a banned substance, and the moron got busted for it twice in a very short time period.

Not to mention the guy has never fought a big name, and really is nothing special.

Why call him a moron? Cause to get weed out of your system, simply stop smoking it for about a month before the fight. DONE!

I don't understand how this ruffles so many feathers?

Did they cut Fukuda because of cold medicine? Or because he just lost and is 2-3 in the UFC beating no one even decent. All fights were decisions?

There is no mathematical way they go about cutting people. They have too many fighters like they said. Cuts will be made. People cry these days over everything and anything.

Well he should have been 3-2, he was given his win bonus for the Ring fight. Costa Philippou and Brad Tavares are a combined 10-2 in the UFC. So cutting him is fairly absurd.

UFC runs a business and seem to be more qualified than us.

You can get all upset over the 35th best MW being cut after loss I guess.

Everyone wants it to be a 4th grade basketball game, where everyone gets a trophy.

Sure, Fitch had a real gripe. He is undoubtedly still a top 10 WW. But do we have to whine each time a guy is cut now?

Matt Riddle's been fighting for all of 4-5 years. He's in no position to call out anyone about 'lack of knowledge of the sport', let alone someone who's been exposed to it for decades and helped rebuild the UFC from the ground up. Matt Riddle, all marijuana discussion aside, is a complete meathead.
