Pierce hasn't really beaten any other contenders, so asking for the number 2, or 3 in Ellenberger, who should be in line after Hendricks, would be too little reward for too much risk for Elly. Elly wins, he's still next in line. He loses, he loses his spot. I like Pierce and I think he's in line, but not high enough for Ellenberger. Lawler makes more sense because he's a potential contender and he's got good name value. Pierce could use some name value if he's looking to be a contender. Hell, since a name and a fight with someone better established in the division than Rocha, Simpson and Baczynski, is all that he needs for a title run, I say give him a rematch with Kos. Kos would make it to where Ellenberger could remain a contender and Lawler can continue towards contendership without knocking Pierce down a peg or losing their spot.
