You couldn't be more right, Gegard would jump on that right off the bat and with his striking ability he'd have that thing opened right up.

Mousasi on facebook said him and Vitor agreed to fight but it didn't happen. Probably a visa issue or something.

That would have been some seriously awesome shit. Maybe FOTY. Moose has never been dropped in K1 or MMA despite facing guys like Manhoef, Hunt, and Kyotaro. If it went to the ground it would have been a sub battle instead of a wrestlefest.

Honestly I think I'd rather see Mousasi vs. Belfort than Mousasi vs. Gustafsson.

It's a fun fight for sure. But I'm pushing for Hendo vs Vitor at the moment. I think it would be an epic fight.

Reminds me of the #1 superfight that never happened and never will. Not GSP vs. Silva or Silva vs. Bones...

Henderson vs. Liddell.

Cool fight stylistically, but I prefer the fight with a lower average age and no TRT involved. It's all about relevance.

Take Gustaf vs Shogun. That fight leaves me quite confident that young, prime Shogun would have beat the Gustaf of that day, dominantly like he did most everyone else back then. It's a great win for Gus, but not as great as a win over Gegard would be at this point in time. And Gus is aware of that, he's said Mousasi is his most dangerous opponent yet because of this.

Vitor is no different to Shogun... he'll always be dangerous, but if the Gustaf fight went through, the younger man would probably have won.

Name value is taken too seriously. What we had here was a fight between two young, experienced and well rounded fighters chasing the same thing. Gustaf would beat Vitor one way or another IMO, and as for Wandy? Flat out destroy him.

For me, the winner of Gustaf vs Mousasi was going to be a bigger claim to contender status than beating anyone else right now, except maybe Machida.

It's not a big cut or very deep. It's simply in a terrible location.

If it opens up blood will flow into his eyes and with only a week to heal it won't take much to open it up.

Commissions simply aren't in the habit of taking risks.

Absolutely spot on post. If I knew how to add to your rep I would. I'm ignorant to that kind of stuff.
