I don't really trust the stats they throw out about the fighters during the PPVs either.

Fedor, Mir, Lytle, Serra, Hendo, Chuck, Minowaman, Maynard, Forrest, Hunt
Pickett, Cerrone, Matt Brown, Bisping, Weidman, Barnett, Lawler

I guess American people must be used to having lies rammed down their throats so it seems normal.

To the average person its just ridiculous and insulting to our intelligence to see the heights jump the second they hit the ufc.

You're saying 80% of the fighters just make up the wrong heights but only when they become ufc fighters and all in the positive direction? Lol

Its just the audacity and blatant lying that is ridiculous... Who knows what important things they fib about as well is the inference.

I didn't pay enough attention during the event to know if they said something different but UFC has Couture listed as 5'10 and Mousasi 6'1 not what you are stating.

If you're going to get your delicate European panties in a bunch about something, at least it should be something meaningful, like the definition of a grounded opponent, for example.

What difference does it make if a fighter is 2" taller or shorter than the number he's listed as? Will it affect his chances of winning if they list the correct height? Are you betting money based on height?

This is a non-issue.

Yeah man Im with you OP! I remember one UFC event I watched, all the fights were FANTASTIC. They were all finished with most ending in KO, and some ending submission. This card featured some of the greatest performances of all time! I was a happy fan. But then on the main event, as soon as I saw Anderson Silvas height listed at 6'1 1/2 when he's CLEARLY 6'2, I was so furious, I punched a hole in my 70'' TV, threw it out the window and watched it fall to the ground!!! I payed 45 bucks to see this event, and while the fights delivered, if they're gonna get the FRIGGIN HIEGHTS WRONG I WILL.NEVER UFC EVER AGAIN!!!

Don't be so naive. The fact that UFC misstates fighter heights clearly suggests that the organization is also paying fighters to take dives. If Dana has the audacity to lie about height, then he's clearly paying off commissions and has the judges and referees in his pockets.

I get the OP's point. It is silly to lie about height. But it's not as though 260 pound fighters are secretly fighting at LHW... in the end, Shane Carwin's being 6 foot 2 despite being billed as 6 foot 5 is no more insulting than it is humorous. It doesn't change fight outcomes, and while it may be slightly irritating to some, it's hardly controversial.

Also, I'm not sure what you're intending to say here. My original statement was that Bellator asks its fighters their height, and the organization more or less takes them at their word. This is a direct quote from the commentary team. So it isn't just the UFC that does it. And I'm willing to bet it happens in plenty of sports. Heights and weights are embellished to impress viewers.

Charles Barkley has gone on record several times as saying that the NBA lies about player heights. And I believe it.

I think it has more to do with me giving zero ****s about someone's height than it does me being from America.

Just confirmed that the heights were 6' and 6'2 on the event. I wonder where they get these from when they don't even agree with their official heights on the UFC website.

Someone with twitter should ask Dana.

It is interesting to me that the UFC doesn't insure accurate stats on their site. It may only be height, but it really makes a person wonder.

Why would they bother? The commission ensures weight is on point, and if the rest doesnt matter to the commission, why should the UFC care?

Everybody good, plenty of slaves for my robot colony?
