Palhares joins Team Nogueira

Rousimar Palhares has signed with Team Nogueira and teams up with Rodrigo and Rogerio Nogueira again as in the golden times when they trained under Brazilian Top Team flag. The UFC middleweight fighter has been recovering from a knee surgery and might debut in the new team in the end of this year.

- It’s a huge joy to be part of Team Nogueira. Big Nog is a great idol for everybody, and besides training together at BTT, I already had the opportunity to fight in the same card as him in Rio de Janeiro [UFC 134, in 2011].

- Now representing this team is so rewarding and a big responsibility. I want to recover quickly from the knee surgery to be able to train right away with my new team mates, all high level guys. I hope to add a lot for them as well.

Rodrigo Nogueira praised the new acquisition of the academy: - “This guy is a monster in jiu-jitsu and he will redouble so much in our trainings. Imagine it! To have Toquinho every day training with our athletes? Our camps gained a reinforcement that any team in the world would like to get,” he celebrated.

- We’re glad with his arrival and once again we show the growth of Team Nogueira. We have a real battalion in the UFC and I promise that we will have even more soon,”

Team Nogueira has twelve representatives in UFC. Besides Rousimar, Rodrigo and Rogerio, Rafael Feijao, Erick Silva, Rony Jason, Renée Forte, Fábio Maldonado and Antônio Braga Neto are under contract. Anderson Silva, Junior Cigano and Antonio Bigfoot also defend the gym.

If I didn't enjoy PS as much as I do, this would certainly be another reason to dislike this fool.

This won't help Palhares' toughness. The guy just seems to give up when things don't go his way. His fight against Belcher was border line embarrassing.

Maybe it'll help him to learn to stop, or learn to be good without the roids

Not sure how you teach toughness. But if anyone can, Big Nog and company are the ones to do it.

Good move by both sides.

Maybe they can smack this guy around a little. Make him face constant adversity in the gym. I don't mind Palhares, but some of his fights are baffling.

He reminds me of Filho the way he acts. Seems like he is spaced out all the time.

Filho had a substance abuse problem. I don't get that vibe from Paul Harris. Seems more like he rides the short bus to school...just a couple fries short of a Happy Meal.
