There is way to much arc in the the travel to be a true 12-6 elbow.

12-6 means you start in a vertical position and drive the elbow directly down. This is certainly not the case here.

Seems you don't know where a ceiling or a floor is located because these are clearly not 12-6.

It looked irresponsible from Browne at least.
Plus. If a fighter is kicked in the nuts and can't continue to fight it shoud be what? At least a no contest. So if two of those devastating elbows did hit "accidentally" the back of the head of Gonzaga, a no contest should be declared ,again, at least.

The only elbows that are 12-6 are the last two. From both angles it is is clear the first 4 are at a 45 degree angle at most. Sounds ridiculous to even point that out since the damage is probably the same, but a rules a rule.

I don't think we would be having a conversation at all if Browne had stopped after the third elbow. The unnecessary and illegal damage came after the fight was over.

Just my opinion, but I think he may have a legit complaint. The first two look ok to me but close to illegal, but past that they look to the back of the head and 12-6. I think the third one knocked him out and looked to the back of the head to me.

Watching again, the forth and fifth elbow make me cringe, as Gonzaga is out and he loads up and drives the hell out of his elbow right into the back of his head.

We do not need the rematch. Let Travis Browne meet the winner of Frank Mir vs Daniel Cormier. And let Gonzaga meet the looser of Velasquez and Bigfoot or Stefan Struve.

None of those elbows were even close to being 12-6 elbows. 3 grazed the back of the head and I thought 4 & 5 landed square on it, but I don't think Gonzaga's appeal will stick. Browne was never warned by the official and was really throwing the same elbow over and over, he didn't target the back of the head, it was Gonzaga who shifted. I seem to recall McCarthy saying in his pre fight explanation (video has been taken off youtube) that they won't penalize fighters if the opponent shifts his head to take shots to the back of the head.

I'm still of the opinion that the only legal shots were 1 and 2, the rest to me looks like blatant shots to the back of the head/neck, some of them with the forearm, some of them borderline 12-6 elbows. Elbow number four looks like what my grandfather used to do to kill rabbits.
