Travis threw the 4th KO elbow(the one that caused referee to stop the fight btw) intentionally to the back of head and if he was not on DMT or some other mind altering drug - i would say he was aware of the fact that he is shooting to the back of head.

This elbow knocked gonzaga Out. The thing is if intentional, ilegal(12/6+ BOH) elbow KOed Gonzaga out and referee stopped the fight.. because of that KO.... then the victory is ILEGAL as well. PERIOD.

1 - Not a single one of those elbows was anywhere near 12-6. Browne was stretching his arm out and bringing his elbow in.

2 - The third elbow knocked Gonzaga out cold. by the time the fourth elbow landed Gonzaga's face was already sliding down Browne's thigh, his knees had buckled, and his left arm had gone limp.

3 -I've attached a screengrab of the third elbow as it landed. I think it's fairly clear that it didn't land in the mohawk area, but above and behind the left ear (inside the "earphones" area, but that definition is defunct.)

Regarding the back of the head issue.

Take a look at the elbow that KOs Gonzaga and makes his head go sideways... this elbow is by common consensus here to the back of the head.

Before this strike Gonzaga still had life in him but after that he was gone.

So my argument is if this crucial elbow is ilegal then and referee fails to interveene, then ilegal is also the victory, give Gonzaga a new match Dana.

Exactly. The 4th elbow is ilegal as devil. And because of simple physics(how and where it landed fully to the back of head) it's the one that has most power to it and puts Gonzaga out.

So there is nooo chance this victory is fair in my eyes.

The elbow that puts him sliding by his thigh as you put it... is the elbow that hits back of the head! This is the crucial strike in this match, it had the most power to it, but there is one problem to it...it was ilegal as he-ll.

I have just seen the HD video replay (not the gif crap) and comfirmed this so i can assure you i know what i m talking about, m a gonzaga controversy expert by now lol.

Watch the real tape my friend.

Third elbow hits the side of the head above the ear. the fourth elbow hits the back of the head. It was the third elbow that made him slump down, though.

I would not call it a slump.

More of a loss of balance, but he still could not see the birds at that point.

So he still had chance.

Until Fourth elbow which was much stronger then third due to the way and where it landed it's logical it was over then.

So the main thing here is - how Travis finished the fight, ilegally and that is simply not ok.

It was a case of Blind and iresponsible referee.

Dana has to make a decision or this will happen more and more often.

So Dana unless you want braindamaged fighters and their opponents winning their 50k$ by strikes to the back of head, please do something now.

Dana has nothing to do with this. This is up to the Athletic Commissions.

Maybe fighters also should stop hiding behind illegal areas of their body. Those illegal zones were introduced for fighters' safety, not for tactical use. Positioning yourself in a way that is leaving only those illegal zones available for the opponent to attack is a loophole in the rules that should be considered as cowardice like running away from the fight. Same with fighters touching the ground with their finger tip to become a "downed opponent".
