If Anderson had said equally offensive stuff about America, I'm 100% sure he would have been attacked at some point.

For example, if I went to Australia and called them all unwashed inbred beach monkey wannabe New Zealanders - Im sure I would get a kick in, even if it is true.
You would only get a kick in only because we would be stunned to fathom how we are the convicts with you guys running around in england punching horses in newcastle and showing off there big bellies in filthy toilet bowl pubs.

Also Anderson would probably get his knob licked by americans still if he said that, i'm right your wrong and there's nothing you can do about it. That's an important and valuable life/forum lesson for you twat man.

Online i see people attacking Americans and the people living there all the time. For instance on facebook i am friends with some HUMOR facebook pages that post funny pics. One of the pictures was of a guy getting plastic surgery implants to get 6 pack abs. The VERY FIRST comment on the picture is "For fat lazy slob Americans who cant do it themselves" followed by 150+ likes and 50 something comments mostly insulting the U.S.A. The only people who defended the US were the people who lived there.

Iv seen this scenario a 1000x whether in Video Games, Forums, youtube, facebook, etc etc. Yet not a single person that isnt from the US ever steps up and says anything against it. Like its perfectly acceptable to insult people from the united states.

But when anything is said against any other country then you are harassed by half the internet community and made out to be some racist piece of sht.

I have always been curious why this is.

There a big difference between some random internet dude insulting America and somebody like Anderson Silva or Chael Sonnen doing it. If Silva spoke about the US and Americans in general the way Sonnen spoke about Brazil, it would not be ignored or considered acceptable. Of that I have no doubt.

Oh i agree. I am not comparing the scenarios. Just pointing out something that i have seen many many times.

That said Anderson really could not say the stuff about America that Chael said about Brazil... it would not make any sense. (A little SideWays humor)

Totally agree. As far as the general public are concerned, the US takes a lot of stick. Lots of banter. they are totally used to it by now. I suppose the most powerful country on earth will always be taken the piss out of. But generally, public figures best keep their mouths shut if they ever want to work in the US.

I was thinking about your second statement and you're right. I struggle to think of anything insulting to aim at the US that compared to what Sonnen said about Brazil! Give me time... Im sure I can think of something.

Australia, on the other hand, is a tome of excellent material.

Bullshit everyone would just gang up on america like they always have and americans would have just accepted like they always have, make fun of any country that is halfway poor and your screwed, but a pretty good run (certainly not financially) country will never get any sympathy.

Yeah saying that "Me and my Brazilian friends would sit inside and talk about technology, sports, news while the American kids would be outside playing in the mud" does not really have the same effect lol

I guess he could say Americans are fat or something but since Chael is in amazing shape that would just kinda seem like a stupid insult.

Perhaps the best insult would be to say that Americans are the most self absorbed people and think of themselves to be the center of the earth. That is true for a good amount of Americans and with the way Sonnen behaved it would add legitimacy to the insult.

Ok. Ill bite. Name me a non-american public figure who has insulted america to the level Sonnen insulted Brazil... and got away with it. As in, they have been allowed to go to the US and work without any hassle. Name me one.

No one has tried to go to america after doing said things so you won;t find an answer on either side, another insult for america is that they are more in debt then a crackhead with a mortgage

Thats my point. If Silva said some horrible ( amusing ) shit about America, do you think it will be simple for him to fight in the US without getting any hassle from Americans?
