Dana White: 'If Nick Diaz wants a fight, we'll give him a fight'

UFC President Dana White: 'If Nick Diaz wants a fight, we'll give him a fight'

Nick Diaz is welcome to fight inside the Octagon, or just come as a spectator, but make sure you have someone save your seat, in case the Stockton slugger tries to steal it.

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) President Dana White is willing to give embattled welterweight brawler Nick Diaz another fight inside the Octagon, even though the former Strikeforce 170-pound champion insists he's retired from the sport of mixed martial arts (MMA).

Unless, of course, he can secure either of these two fights.

That hasn't kept him from making appearances at recent UFC events, like The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 17 Finale, which White was kind enough to give him tickets to. Too bad they went to waste after Diaz got into the building and sat wherever the hell he wanted.

Diaz gonna Diaz:

"It's the third fight of The Ultimate Fighter Finale, the third fight on the main card and I get a text, 'Hey, Nick Diaz needs three tickets to the show.' What show? I'm thinking San Jose, New Jersey ...'No, tonight. He wants to go to the fights tonight.' What's he coming for, the main event? Cool. So we got him three tickets right behind me. He took the three tickets, got into the thing and sat up in the stands in three empty seats. Way up in the stands where all the fans were. The girl comes to me and says, 'Nick Diaz is here with his friends and he took the tickets, I showed him where the seats were and he went and sat up in the stands. I went up there and said hey Nick, these aren't your seats, your seats are down there behind Dana. He goes, 'We just wanna sit here. If these people come back, we'll move to other empty seats'.' Cool. But that's Nick Diaz, right? I didn't see him, I didn't talk to him. I was gonna say hi to him, I thought he'd be sitting right [behind me]. I didn't talk to him the whole night. But he was there and sat up in the bleachers. If he wants a fight, we'll give him a fight."
Shocking (not really).

Diaz returned to the Octagon in October 2011 after nearly a five-year absence, defeating former two-time champion B.J. Penn to put himself in position to challenge Georges St. Pierre for the title. While "Rush" was on the shelf with kneehab, Diaz lost to Carlos Condit at UFC 143 and flunked his post-fight drug test.

It didn't keep him out of a title fight, but he was unable to capitalize on the opportunity.

In addition, his second run under the ZUFFA umbrella -- which ended with a UFC 158 loss to "Rush" in Montreal -- was plagued with public gaffes, run-ins with management and bizarre accusations.

How do you think he sells so many wolf tickets?

Imagine the surprise of the ticket holders when they find it's occupied by the Diaz bros and co.

Imagine coming back to that. "Is that Nick Diaz in our seats?"

You know what? I'm a confirmed Diaz hater, and I'm pretty sure if someone came up to him with the tickets and said "Hey Nick, you guys are in our seats." He actually would've moved without too much of a fuss.

Hahaha. Nick's awesome.

He should stay retired a bit and just pull a BJ Penn and come back whenever he gets motivated.
