I'm pretty sure DC is Cain's wrestling coach so Cormier would probably have a slight advantage. It's almost a certainty that this fight will never happen though so it'll be the new Shogun vs Wanderlei debate.

in the UFC on Fox post-fight presser, Dana said (I paraphrase) he was glad to know Velasquez and Courmier had been talking about fighting each other, and Courmier said he'd fight whoever the UFC told him to, even Velasquez, but that he didn't feel 'this performance warranted a title shot'.

Haven't heard from Vealquez, from Courmier seems willing, and Dana isn't indicating they've flat-out refused, as some teammates have in the past.

But assuming everybody keeps winning, JDS vs DC, Werdum vs Velasquez, then winner vs winner.

I don't think DC could handle Cains pace.

It would be 5 rounds and DC would look great in the first two but Cain would end up winning.

I really hope we get to see this match up! Cain has never faced anybody with a wrestling pedigree as impressive as Cormier's. Both guys match up pretty evenly, but I would have to give the edge to Cain just based on his aggression, cardio and incredible pace. Cain via UD.

"I have a call into the boss on Thursday, and we'll see what happens," he said on Tuesday.

Cormier, who suffered a near-tragic weight cut during his Olympic wrestling days, admits he's still not sure what he prefers. However, he sees attractive options in both weight classes, though a move down to light heavyweight likely wouldn't be completed until late 2013.

"Big fights big fights are what I'm interested in," he said. "Whether it be at heavyweight or whether it be at 205, it doesn't matter. I'm going to get with my team this week, and we're going to make a decision."
