What did Cormier do wrong.
The Internet is full of Cormier haters at the moment, saying things like they wernt impressed, he was boring, he's overrated..... How. Cormier is a wrestler, probably one of the best in Mma and yet he dominated Frank Mir without even using it. He showed some of the best clinch work in a long time, with some really nice combo's. Frank Mir is very dangerous on the floor and ime pretty sure if Cormier would of debuted against any other fighter they would of been dumped on there head. What were people expecting??. Cormier has now dominated 3 top ten Heavyweights in a row yet still can't seem to win fans over, what the f***.

Frank Mir was doing the same thing against CroCop. Mir got a lot of bad reactions to his gameplan also against Crocop. I guess a lot of people want something more than stalling against the fence. I will admit that Cormier was doing some damage there too but for a lot of casual viewers of the game this kind of gamplanning the oponent gets the tag boring. I think if Cormier would put some risk to his game he would have finished Mir.

I wasn't impressed. Stalling on the fence is the most boring strategy there is. I wouldn't mind if he did it every once in awhile but he practically did it from start to finish. I'm not saying he's overrated, I'm just saying his fight was shit.

Cormier did'nt do anything wrong, he was victorious last night and won the fight by a good margin. Every judge saw it the same way and it wasn't hard to see why they did.
Impressive debut in my opinion.

He wasn't 'exciting'
He clearly won, but I'm not sold on him, he's easily the best HW in the world behind Cain and JDS but I don't think he'll do we'll at 205.
Might be top ten but I think Jones would tear him up.

He fought conservatively when everyone thought he'd ko Mir. If a fighter doesn't live up to his pre-fight expectations, they're going to catch some flak.

To be fair, he kept saying he would. Part of the same reason people consistently dislike Bisping every time he talks about being a KO machine and then spends most of his fight on his bike.

He did exactly what you are supposed to do against Frank Mir, bully him and avoid the ground. Props to Mir for not getting his head knocked off

He just didn't look that overwhelming against a guy who is well into the downhill side of his career.
Mir got absolutely lit up by the striking of JDS, Carwin and Nog. Cormier is more of a wrestler, but even so, considering how agonizingly slow Mir looked in the fight, a lot of people are just wondering why Cormier didn't land better on a guy who is so hittable.
Cormier had a good gameplan, and he obviously won the fight easily, but I was shocked he couldn't hurt Mir more on the feet, considering the speed advantage he had.
