I think they could stand. Phil may be a better wrestler, but he was stuffed plenty vs. Lil Nog. His MMA wrestling isn't as good as his college creds. I think Bader is good enough to defend most TDs...as Phil's MMA wrestling isn't elite.

Then Bader would find the chin. Hard time believing Phil would just grapple F Bader. Other than Rashad who taught him a thing or 2...the closest to a wrestler Phil has fought was Boetsch...a guy who ran to 185lbs and isn't as good of a wrestler as Bader.

Phil's wrestling is overrated...that is just my opinion though.

Exactly my approach to this match up. Can't see no advantage for Browne bar he being taller, but since Nelson dismantled taller guys while having breakfast, back to zero advantage.

Guess he skipped breakfast against Werdum/Rothwell/Dos Santos. Really as every Roy Nelson fight comes down to is can Roy one-punch Browne and is Browne susceptible to the one-punch. I don't think so, I bet on Browne.

Against Werdum and JDS, I think he is excused, but did you really brought up a 6 years old split decision against Rothwell?

Nelson beat Rothwell now.

And Werdum and JDS are both beasts.
No one is saying Nelson is the champion. But he would walk through Browne

Yup...

You know why, his record with the judges

2-6
1 split decision win
1 split decision loss

those two wins

Jerry "Scary" Vrbanovic who was 4-4-1 at the time(ended his career 6-7-1)

Shane Ott who was 3-0 at the time (ended at 3-3)

So while I love the dude for finishing 65% of his fights I'm not going to turn the blind eye to that huge hole in his game.
