should have been said a long time ago, also makes the UFC's retarded decision to make him a tuf coach even more stupid

Sad to see him go but you got to do what you got to do. Best of luck Shane.

Some people still had him in the top 10 or were hopeful he would come back and be some sort of factor. He was done long ago.

Carwin da gawd.

Bummed to see him go when he still had so much potential, you hate to see a fighter leave money on the table. He was making about half of what Kongo was making and that was just tragic. Hope the UFC did right by him, but at the very least I know he also had a great job.

I really don't think he had much left to give, or ever had much to offer. Carwin started way, way too late in his life to ever really make a long term impact. The only reason he even made the shockwave he did is because the UFC HW has always been by far the thinnest division in terms of talent. The reason p4p rankings exist is because of weak divisions such as HW that rarely showcase as much technical skill as the other divisions.

I would have liked to see him vs Overeem or maybe Mark Hunt but other then that he really had not much left to offer the HW division. We saw him vs JDS and that pretty much showed where Carwin was at or where he would ever be at throughout the rest of his career. He was not going to be much better at his stage. He was going to just rely on his power for the rest of his career.

Right decision in my opinion.
The man is 39 years old, has had more surgeries than Joan Rivers, only trains part time, and hasn't fought in two years.
I'll always be a fan but I'm glad he retired instead of continued on. His heart in the JDS fight was something else.

Sad to see him go but he should do what is right for his health and life. Wish him the best.
