$25.86 million + $???????? in sold advertising spaces to fighters and event sponsors = the money Zuffa has to work with to advertise the event, pay for the facility, their staff and undisclosed bonuses.

I'd guess they made close to $20 million on UFC 159.
That's pretty weak when you take into comparison Mayweather made $30mil for his last fight.

And people say boxing is a dying sport..

It's being considered a non-profitable event it seems. And the sport of boxing is not dying, just the interest in it by fan that once existed is.

Might be important to note that the UFC is a global company now, with a lot of salaries to take care of as well. Even merch sales people take cuts and UFC will only get a percentage. They make good money no doubt but its not like Dana/Fertita's are taking all profits.

Not bad. Bones is a bit of a draw but prob not as big as he should be. Sonnen isnt too much of a draw without Silva. And a lot of people knew the outcome of the fight for a while.

Perhaps people did not want to shell out $60 to see a one sided beat down. The most entertaining aspect of this fight occurred before the fight started, and the numbers reflect that. Hopefully this teaches them that fluff and hype doesn't sell as well as fluff and hype with at least some substance.
