I remember asking myself, "man oh man, it would sure suck if this guy lost, it would ruin everything..." Then I started thinking how can the UFC let him lose? feed him someone like Sinosic? But there's too many variables in MMA, would Dana take this chance? He's gotta fight sometime and the way things have been going with upsets, it's pretty scary putting an important guy like Bisping out there... you gotta good point, I really need to see this fight again...
Bisping is an investment at this point. He is one of the first guys to come off the show that everyone immediatly thought deserved to be there. Fans like him, He is good for business. Bottom line, whether he escaped, or the fight was fixed, it was a close call. And he didnt just roll right over Shaefer either. I think we all agree, Elvis and Eric are not at the top of the food chain. So what happens when Bisping has to fight some one with that we know is good. How long until that happens? I feel like right now, Jardine would murder him. I think Tito would beat him, because Bisping will throw that body kick, Tito will catch and and put him on his back. I dont think I even need to mention Chuck. Rashad, Rampage. I think Bisping should fight Forrest. And then start fighting these other guys.

If something fishy was really going on, wouldn't it have been wiser for Elvis not to have applied the Kimura in the first place? He was so exhausted and banged up at that point he probably had just enough gas left to snap it once. It looked like he tried but then succumbed to fatigue and Bisping's relentless attack.

I'm not a BJJ practitioner, but wrestled extensively...
all I can say is that my friends who DO do BJJ have tried similar and you can block them. If you watch the fight again, notice how Bisping has his other arm in with his trapped arm and effectively blocks the hold. Sometimes you can grab your own wrist and/or elbow and stop the torque. I've done it before in a similar fashion, though not with anyone as good obviously.

I just think Elvis was gassed and could not apply it fully and gave up on it.

Yes it could be very well that and more power to Bisping for breaking free, but this thread brought up another topic. What's next for Bisping?

I'm sure the UFC doesn't want to see Forrest lose again, then you have Evans, Tito, Jardine, Chuck, and Rampage to compete with. Bispings passed the gateway point and is gonna hit up some tough compo, it's just hard to see any of these guys lose to one another. But thats the game baby! I say we bring back babalu for Bisping, who ever wins moves on. OOH! Where's Bonnar these days?

I think Wilson Gouvea would be a good test for him. They dont have much to lose with that fight. Since they are both coming up still.

Yo its simple bro , i caught this when it happened, 1. Sinosic wasnt in the greatest position to lock in the kimura... 2 he simply let go to get better positioning which ended up costing him the fight .

I saw the same thing! the conspiracy type threads are always entertaining though!

when you lock in a kimura, you can pretty much tell right away if the guy is going to tap or not...

clearly, bisping felt that sinosic was going to tough it out and not tap, so why waste the energy trying to secure the kimura over and over.

same thing happened with hughes and gracie, hughes had it LOCKED, and i mean LOCKED, but he could tell very shortly that gracie was not going to tap, so he let it go to conserve energy.
