Why does the UFC love holiday fights?

Does anyone find it odd that the UFC goes out of their way to coincide with holidays? Memorial Day, July 4th, New Year's, even the Super Bowl if you count it. I find successful sports games on Thanksgiving & Christmas days different is that is during the day when there could be downtime between meals etc. But it seems weird to expect everyone will use their holiday get-togethers to go order a UFC pay-per-view or go to a bar at night to see it. What's your take on it?

Must work for them as they continue to do it.

They are rarely on the actual holiday. The 4th card is on the 6th of July. The "new years card" was on the 29th of December.

I don't see a problem with it.

Im guessing because people are more likely to treat themselves during holiday periods, feel good effect and all that. People are more likely to buy stuff during these periods.

It's really just common sense. People have parties and get togethers during the holidays. It's like the NBA on Christmas, the NFL on Thanksgiving and college bowl games on New Years. Holidays and Sports go together like Chinese food and chocolate pudding, like cocaine and waffles...like peanut butter and ladies.

Because fat Americans gather together with their fat families to watch sports and eat fatty foods on holidays designed for getting fat. It's smart business.

I kid. You know I love you, 'Merica
