What? If a guy believes Asians gets beaten easier and their chins are weak I think he came to the right place to ask if there's any truth about that, right?

And I loved some well placed statements full of details posted by other members.

I truly did not see any offense by the OP, who actually made clear his intention was to learn others opinions and not being racist.

Tend to agree. Asian fighters have been overhyped for years. At the end of the day they aren't physically elite enough and are usually small for their class.

Aoki was touted so high for beating up bums. Anyone with a decent gameplan can beat him as he is so 1-dimensional.

Hioki wasn't nearly as good as his ranking. Sexyama I remember was once a top 10, he pretty much is winless in the UFC. Not many quality Asian fighters.

Agree. This is becoming ridiculous. Afraid to see what society will be like in 20 years.

I don't approve.

At the truly elite level of any sport it's all about the individual and their abilities, you can't really place genetics or race as the true reasoning behind a persons success or failure.

Do you believe the F1 Champion is always the best driver?

I don't agree with the notion presented by the OP but I don't understand why everyone is swarming and calling him racist. Questions like this are proposed all the time. Simply proposing that genetics might affect something physical for a race of people is not inherently racist, even if it is completely incorrect.

It is a well known fact that black people tend to have more fast twitch muscles than white people. If I were to point out that a lot of black people win the 100 meter sprint is that racist? Again I don't agree that Asians have weaker chins, but asking the question doesn't make the entire discussion racist. It is how people respond which divulges the true racists.

Also, Osmium, I can't help but point out that Russians are not a race of people.

This. I am shocked how many people jumped on him, including a moderator.

See, you can be the best strategist, the most intelligent and trained and all of that will be your software, however, your hardware will limit you. Your body is your hardware when comes to fighting. Your hardware will suffer limits by many different reasons, like stress, exhaustion, lack of sleep and yes, genetics. So, even though you may have software advantage, better fighting IQ, eventually you can get overpowered.

It wasn't his point it was his wording choices. Maybe he was half pissed while posting but especially when playing the not racist card you need to be a little smarter with your wording.

As for the people arguing about genetics now. Yes they do come into effect in some regards but not here. Before you can start making assumptions like this Asians need to start training and fighting the same as say North American and Brazilian fighters. Right now it is like comparing apples to oranges, we already know that 90% of Asian fighters don't succeed against top talent in a North American style MMA match but that isn't because they are Asian. It is because they don't have the same quality of training especially when it comes to wrestling. They also have a different philosophy on weight cutting which puts them at a disadvantage when fighting a larger wrestling based fighter.

Now if you were arguing why there are no top Asian HW fighters I would agree that genetics definitely is coming into play. But that is another subject, there are lots of Asian fighters that if they trained properly with top level fighters they could be really good but that likely isn't going to happen at a large scale until the UFC makes larger steps into the Asian markets.
