ZUFFA doesn't pay for the travel and hotel? So the guy has to fly to Brazil on his own? What about the coaches? What kind of ****ed up deal is that? And did he not read his contract?

Cholish is at the bottom of the UFC's payscale but still if he fought 3 times a year and only won once he would make $16000 (plus at least the same again in sponsorship) add any locker room bonus and you end up with a salary of just over $40,000 a year... The same as your average firefighter and more than your average cop!

The problem here is the idea that every professional sportsman, regardless of standard deserved to earn the big bucks and that simply isn't true. You want money then be successful!
I'm not sure where you live but the firefighters around here make much more than 40k and they don't have to give a piece of their paycheck to their firehouse and trainers.

I'm always curious when Dana says "trust me they get paid" about his fighters. I think he is referring to the extra bonuses he pays out to people. Are the bonus's on a different tax model? Is that why a win bonus is double?

No he said if you want to take more than just your trainer and want more than one hotel room it has to come out of your own pocket.

Which seems reasonable, he can't expect the UFC to pay for his entire team to come down.

I would like to see the the UFC pay the bottom tier a little more. Maybe like an incentive... fight 3 times a year and if your earning don't exceed 50k we'll make up the difference.

50k is enough to train full time and eat healthy and is probably more than what most earn.

But UFC is not the minor leagues. SF or Bellator would be considered that. Not being part of a PPV UFC event....

Yes, no one comes to see him, but he is a UFC fighter.

And you do realize that AAA or AA baseball players still make anywhere from 50k to sometimes 500k right? And get tons of things paid for them. They don't pay for practice/training. And these baseball players aren't even sharing a platform with the MLB. These low UFC fighters ARE sharing a stage with the GSPs and Anderson's of MMA.

100k and getting most anything paid for is a tad different than making 5k and having to pay for training camps and sometimes travel for your coaches...

No they do, he said they only pay for a few coaches. So basically he's complaining because he had to pay for his entire posse rather just himself and his coach.

$4k to show $4k to win

I dont know how old you're but $4k to travel , train and pay coaches along with paying your bills from your living accommodation is not nearly enough especially if you fight once a year which is what he did since joining , this isnt UFC UNDISPUTED 3 career mode in which you only pay for coaches , in real life you have numerous bills to pay for.

Velasquez will be back

Minor leagues is a terrible example.

This guy is a UFC fighter. It is more along the lines of A-Rod may make 40 mil a year. The benchwarmer that doesn't even play...and NO ONE COMES TO SEE....still makes a healthy living of a couple mill. And doesn't have all these expenses a low tier UFC fighter has...

Full time fighter is kind of a joke term. These guys aren't training eight hours a day and if they are they are ******* stupid and wrecking themselves not helping themselves. You've got plenty of time left over to be out there hustling if you are training a proper amount of time a day.

Guys on the regional circuit wish they were making 4-8 g a fight and the ones who make that in the UFC are basically regional circuit fighters for the most part. Besides that if you win your fights you are up for a new contract in a year to get that pay raise and if you lose you are back down making way less than four thousand.

Makes me wonder how many people, who are not fighters and don't fight during UFC cards, make more money then many of the guys who do fight at a given UFC card.
