Roy Nelson [and Kizer] Says Belfort ‘Should Never Get a License in Las Vegas

Did I miss something? Is this why everyone keeps saying Belfort can only win in Brazil? Because it is the only place that will give a TRT exemption to someone who has been caught for steroids (which makes no sense, what about Chael?)?

In a recent interview with Bloodyelbow.com, Roy Nelson talked about UFC middleweight fighter Vitor Belfort.
Belfort is coming off a huge KO win over former Strikeforce middleweight champion in Luke Rockhold with a spinning back-kick in the first round. Leading up to the fight, both Rockhold and Belfort had a lot to say about the 36-year old Brazilian fighter’s use of Testosterone Replacement Therapy.
Roy Nelson spoke on the issue Tuesday night, saying that Belfort “should never get a license in Las Vegas. The only way he can is if there’s somebody getting paid off, or whatever. The rules are the rules. If you kill somebody in Texas, you’re probably going to get the death penalty. It’s just the rules. He’s got to live with that.”
Indeed, earlier this spring, Keith Kizer of the Nevada State Athletic Commission stated that he did not “see Vitor Belfort getting a TRT exemption from us.”
“I really don’t,” Kizer reiterated, going on to say, “I feel kind of bad for him in some ways because if he has learned from his mistakes and now he’s trying to do it the right way and his levels are low with the treatment, good for him and I hope he is doing that.”
“The rules are the rules and you have to draw the line somewhere,” Kizer concluded, alluding to Belfort’s positive test for a steroid which, according to athletic commission rules, disallows his request for a Temporary Use Exemption.

Chael and even Overeem were never caught for steroids, just high t/e ratios. That's different than being caught with an anabolic steroid in your system, is my best guess.

EDIT:
The UFC put these commissions in place to keep the sport clean, and then pull crap like this in order to rack in the cash. I think it's disgusting that if one commission refuses to license someone, they hop on a plane and go somewhere else in the worlds where the rules can be bent or broken.

Chael was fully open about his TRT his issue was he didn't follow all the proper channels and his levels I believe we're a little high. Belford got caught using steroids flat out as a ped

Don't fight in Las Vegas then...?

Not sure how to feel about Vitors situation tbh. One side of me thinks it sucks that Vitor is on TRT, which has CLEARLY been a factor in his improvement, while everyone he's fighting is competing purely on skill and natural ability.

Another side of me wants to see the best Vitor possible. The Vitor that ended Bisping, the Vitor the spinning heel kicked Rockhold into oblivion, THATS the Vitor I want to see everytime he fights. And if it takes for Vitor to get jacked on TRT, and super hopped up on Jesus while talking about young lions, fine wine, and T-Rexs, then so be it.

When did chael get caught roiding?? Wec??

I don't think that's fair. They should talk to a neutral doctor and see if he really needs trt. Out of vitors pocket ofcourse. And if he does they should monitor the shit out of him.

Well the Vegas commission hands out the exemptions. So it won't work if he gets it somewhere else. And if he does trt without reporting it on the paper work. All the commission has to do is call his doctor and vitor gets stuck with a long suspension that the UFC will honor anywhere.

That is a simple and clever way of thinking about it.

The questions I have from this now are:

1-Can the tests make a difference when hormones are natural or artificially injected?

2-Is Vitor only bringing his hormones to the normal level while not being tested?

EDIT:
The commission will call the doctor that is being paid by Vitor and the guy will just admit they are cheating to get his client a suspension?
