They should definitely receive the state athletic commission's punishment, and any punishment the UFC deems fit above and beyond. I'm not against the reefer, but the media's eye is returning to MMA, and now is not the time for the athletes to be testing positive for any banned substance, from Benadryl to steroids to heroin.

Now, if a fighter can smoke intelligently (i.e. smokes, but has it out of their system before fight night), then that's their business.

uhhhhhhh

it would generally take about a month, depending on how often they smoked, but if they're doing all kinds of cardio then maybe less

i have to agree with dopesmoker's post above. this sport is growing and growing, but they're far from having character codes or whatever like the NFL.

The reasons the substance is illegal and the validity of those reasons is a separate issue.

A fighter will get penalized if they test positive for Benadryl. The state athletic commission's testing policy is not based on whether or not the drug in the fighter's system is legal. They aren't writing tickets to the fighters; they're making sure the fighter's are safe.
