I enjoyed the fight, it was fun. One of the better fights on a pretty boring card.

I think the skill level wasnt as good as some of the mens fights but who cares? Leanard Garcia and Korean Zombie beat the shit out of each other in one of the least technically proficient fights ever but yet that is heralded as a great fight.

Lets face it, it's rare that women have the same skill level as their male counterparts in most sports but it was a good fight so why the moaning?

Leonard Garcia vs KZ was also chock full of action and actual offense.

Yes but no one cares about inane predispositions based on completely arbitrary reasons.

People hate women's mma because the talent level is shit.

Not because they are women.

Therefore the reasoning is not arbitrary and flyweights deserve far less hatred by any logical or reasonable person.

I'm usually pro WMMA, but concerning this fight, I'm rather going with the naysayers. This is a fighting sport and I want to have at least the impression that the fighters could finish their opponents, so they should either show a minimum of decent technique or power, preferably both, but in this fight that wasn't really the case (same reason why I actually don't really enjoy Leonard Garcia). The striking was most of the time a nonexplosive pushing and the grappling looked like a white belt exhibition match. I mean, Davis is supposedly a BJJ black belt, had that triangle for what like over a minute or so without Sexton actually working against it (apart from the punches) and couldn't adjust to make it tighter¿

I question a lot of women's "black belts".

I think you can question quite some black belts in general.

According to wiki, Julia Kedzie is a 3rd degree BB in TKD. As is Tony Pettis.

You're completely wrong. You can see it right here in this thread. You can see it in the way the UFC promotes the Flyweight division. You can see it in the lack of new fighters signed for the Flyweight division. Lot's of people care about "arbitrary reasons". Especially the ones who make money off Ronda (they really give a crap about your "arbitrary reasons"). You seem to be confusing what you think people's opinion should be with what many people's opinion, casuals in particular, is.

Flyweights don't "deserve" anything. Keep putting on awesome fights (they usually are) and people will take notice. If the women's division remains stagnant people will stop watching. But right now there is a lot more money to be made with the latter.

I'm not talking about what sells and what doesn't.

I don't care. It's just like pro wrestling. I dont care whos popular...I only care about what I like.

The idea was that Flyweights are hated on for inane, arbitrary reasons while women are hated on because they suck. That's the point osmisium was making.

I don't even particularly enjoy a lot of the Flyweight fights...but it's hard to deny the talent of a guy like DJ.

I think he's boring as **** and the only guys in that division I care for is Lineker and McCall(and Montague when he finally signs)...but it has nothing to do with size...it has to do with him hopping around the cage like a moron throwing 14 potshots per round. It's terrible to watch.

Rousey is a legit star and somewhat watchable...but lets not pretend she's not the only draw in the division.....any other headliner would bomb terribly.

.It was a good fight. Women/lower weights struggle to generate as much finishing power... only means we get to watch them fight for that power for longer = MMA. Closely contested MMA.

Don't know about you lot but, I like MMA.
