Erick Silva: WW Jose Aldo

He's no longer under the radar. He's legit. Big for his division. Explosive striking and super aggressive yet technical grappling. Questionable cardio. I believe he is the WW version of Jose Aldo. He will be getting a title shot eventually and could very well be champion. Aldo was finishing his opponents in his early WEC days just as quickly and if it werent for Fitch being unchokable, Silva would be in the title mix already.

Thoughts?

He's got ok grappling which means he wont be top 5 in a div full of great grapplers and bad cardio so i think he'll be fringe top 10 maybe. Also against fitch and brennanmen and prater he kept his hands absurdly low which is a no go

He's decent, but I don't think he cracks the top 5. There's a lot of serious talent in the the WW division and he's definitely no Jose Aldo. Aldo is leaps and bounds above his division, so much so it's looking like he'll be adding another belt to his resume sometime next year.

I think hes learned a thing or too from the Fitch fight. It really humbled him. He didn't drop them against Jason high (not that he had the chance).
As for his grappling, he man-handled Brennamen and High who aren't slouches on the ground. Id say he hung with Fitch until he gassed.

We'll see. Have to see this kid go longer than three minutes without gassing. He's explosive for sure, but he's a WW. Aka powerful wrestler central. He's going to end up a gatekeeper imho. He isn't beating gsp or Rory probably not Hendricks either. He hasn't really beaten anyone either. I want to see him in there with someone who can survive and handle the pressure, like Kampmann or someone along that line.

I agree he needs more seasoning, however its just my opinion now, that he has all the skills Aldo has. Maybe not the leg kicks.....

Cardio Cardio Cardio. Cardio. If he fixes that, I think he will hold the belt. Espcially if GSP retires.

Erick Silva is just like Jose Aldo of the WW division, neither guy will be winning the WW title.

Anyways just enjoy the can crushing while it lasts, their is nothing wrong with watching fools get smoked in under a minute.

What makes you think it did¿ He was again super aggressive and explosive in his last fight. That's exactly what makes him gas. He can train cardio all he wants, if he doesn't learn how to pace himself he will always gas after the first round.
