If this were a Brazilian or English fighter campaigning for a hometown fight I doubt their would be any blowback. This is likely the one time the UFC is going to be in Milwaukee with the highest profile fighter....

Anyways the UFC should book some LW fights on the prelims just in case Pettis is ready and cleared to fight. The good news with Anthony is that by fighting in two weight classes the UFC has six guys lined up only one of them needs to get injured for Anthony to step up. And worst comes to worst putting two LW prelims you could get an exhibition fight for Pettis which is just as good.

It has little to do with nationality, and everything to do with a guy who was too impatient to wait for a title shot in his own division and now that that has fallen through he wants to cut in yet another line to return to his original spot even though the division has clearly moved on without him.

For what it is worth, not much, White is quoted saying the following:

“He’s definitely in line [at featherweight[, we'll see what happens. He could do either – he could fight Aldo or he could fight the winner of [Henderson] and T.J. Grant [at UFC 164].”

I say pick a division. If he was going right back to 155 anyway, then fighting for the FW title was dumb anyway.

If he wants to be at 155 then why not face a top fighter and earn the shot. Melendez vs. Pettis.

It's been three years since he's earned his "promised" title shot and while I don't wish to see Grant bumped from his title shot I see no reason why Pettis shouldn't be on his home-town card. Also I don't feel it's right to blame any of the fighters who were willing to drop down to face Aldo (Florian, Edgar, Pettis) as the FW contenders have failed to prove their legitimacy. Three of the last four fighters, Josh Grispi, Mark Hominick, and Manny Gamburyan have a combined UFC record of 2-10.

If he wants a short camp he should have that right especially considering both what he's been through and what he brings to the table.

The way I see it, if he hadn't have been impatient, he'd be on that card already. He decided he wasn't going to wait, just because his plans fell through doesn't mean someone else should be forced to wait.

If they have a spot available for him then adding him to the card is no big deal if not tough shit no one should be getting bumped to please him.

Ok.. Of course I want to see him fight Bendo..

But I don't like line-cutting in front of a dude that has earned his shot.

I guess it's up-to Bendo and Dana IMO...
